I stayed for 5 nights at Hotel Lorensberg. The location perfect in the very city center.
This hotel is not a luxury hotel, but everything has been done for maximum convenience and guest comfort. The rooms are quite small but spotlessly clean with high quality beds. Simple, but high quality breakfast. A very good selection of fruit and pastry and coffee/tea throughout the day free of charge. Free mineral water on the rooms each day. Very helpful and competent staff.
No gym or fitness facility, but the hotel arranges for its guest to use the very nearby (300 m) sport complex "City Gym" with 50m-pool and state of the art fitness facilities.

This hotel is very different than the big "chain"-hotels. Small, personal, and very nice!

Great location near to Liseberg & city. Two single beds pushed together & pretty hard with stupid square half sized pillows. At least I got 2, but that means a gap in the middle! Shower ok but hot water takes ages & no hairdryer. Clean rooms with a fridge. Breakfast was pretty good. Good TV. Gotta love the late night hard core porn on Swedish TV!

This is a classic-style small European hotel close to the center of Gothenburg (thus, expect small rooms). Near a few major tram connections and most importantly the airport bus. Free wi throughout. Free coffee in the lobby. Small rooms but with fridge. Very friendly staff. The only drawback is compared to similar hotels in other European cities it's a it pricey, but then again it's Sweden. The breakfast is superb, with the option of a small garden to dine in. All in all a nice little spot.

I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. It was less than 5 mins walk from the conference centre on a quiet leafy street. The staff were really helpful, polite and friendly. So many little touches such as tea and coffee making facilities in the lounge area with freshly made cakes. Rooms were clean and comfortable with feather pillows, fridge and hairdryer. Breakfast was delicious. So much choice. Fresh bread, cooked and continental. we ate ours outside in the little courtyard. Restaurants nearby. Tram stops at end of road. So easy to get into Gothenburg centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if attending a conference at the nearby conference centre.
