I booked this hotel having previously stayed in other Clarion Collection hotels, as well as other Nordic Choice hotels and found them to be of a high standard. I didn't feel this was the case with the Odin.
Unlike other Clarion Collection hotels which are often in historic properties, this is in a relatively modern but uninspiring building, shared with other businesses. Reception is on level 2, and guest rooms on floors 2 - 7. There also appear to be residential units either in the same building or adjoining, the noise from the roof terrace went on late into the night.
I'd requested a quiet room so on check in was allocated a room not overlooking the railway lines (the hotel is right next to the lines) on the 7th floor. When I got to the room I found it was an internal room, with window overlooking the void above the bar and restaurant. The room was too hot, but opening this window didn't provide any fresh air - the heat from the atrium rises along with noise from below.
I requested a different room (with a window facing outdoors, as there is no option to control the temperature I n the room, its all centrally controlled) and was moved to room 717, which must be the worst room in the hotel.
Not only is there noise from the roof terrace, but as I discovered after going to bed, all you hear in this room is the elevators whirring and clunking, and the nearby door slamming. Had I known this before going to bed I would have refused to stay in that room.
CC hotels provide an evening meal and afternoon tea - the food is OK but the 'family friendly' nature of this hotel meant that it felt somewhat like having dinner in a motorway service station restaurant, with kids running around.
I'd not stay at this hotel again, and would strongly recommend anyone who likes a quiet room at a reasonable temperature to sleep to consider alternatives.
