We are booking a twin-room in Arthur Hotel by the hotel-info agency in the airport.
Looking for prise about 100e per night.
Only Arthur? Where on the map? OK.
Early I hear about hotel-problem in Helsinki. But I don`t thihk it is SO...
Room No.703... When you up to 6 floor by lift, you need to have 5-min. walk in the real labirynth in the way to 703.
And when you are find your room, you are welcome back to the USSR!
Old, not very clean room, bloody bathroom, no shampoo, no soap...
When you are get sleep, you are hearing, what about speaks your neighbours.
In the morning, when we are going to get out, reception-men want to get money for us (we are paying in the agency in airport). 10 minutes callings and finally it is no problem.
Helsinki - is beautiful sity. But why hotel service here is so ugly???

“Poor standard”

Arthur Hotel

10 Feb 2008

The hotel doesn't live up to its description and is of quite poor standard throughout, especially as it claims to have been renovated in 2005. I agree with the previous reviewer who likened it to an old-style Soviet hotel. The room we stayed in was quite shabby (see pictures); wallpaper peeling off, mould in the bathroom, etc. The continental breakfast is basic, the TV only has 4 Finnish channels and the service isn't particularily friendly. This is really a budget hotel with mid-range prices.

Also be warned that 90% of the rooms have twin beds, which is not mentioned on the hotel's web site; a double bed is only "on request". We booked this hotel for our anniversary which obviously was a bad move in every respect...

Well, what we can say - definitely below expectations. Not quality for money. And really feels like you are back to USSR times with the same approach towards quality of service.

“Fine Hotel, Good Location”

Arthur Hotel

5 Jan 2008

The location was a large plus to this hotel. While not in the direct center of the tourist area, it was near the train station and in very easy walking distance of the major sights.

The room was clean and a fairly good size for a European hotel. We had two twin beds in our room, and they were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast offered a wide variety of food, which was nice.

This place is kind-of old, but they've at least kept it clean. The hardwood floors in the rooms were nice because no traveler likes that gross stained carpet in some hotels.

My biggest complaint was the bathroom. It was extremely small, moldy, and gross!

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to the average tourist, but before booking I would advise that you be aware of the dingy bathroom situation because it was not pleasant.

“Used to nice, now its dirty”

Arthur Hotel

2/2 found this review helpful

I had stayed at this hotel before. A well located, simple, comfortable hotel. In my latest stay, I found the room's bathroom extremely dirty (see the photos attached), the room uncomfortable, and a lot of noise from construction in the rooms in the same floor. What used to be a reasonable stay is now a hotel I would not recommend at all.
