Tapasta has the greatest atmosphere. It's so cozy - something that can be hard to find in Helsinki where a lot of restaurants look like the inside of a dentist's office. I eat here quite a lot - sometimes early in the evenings, sometimes after seing a movie or the like. The only problem is that tables should be booked early in advance - something that is easily done via Tapasta's homepage - since the place is so small (takes 30 guests tops) and popular. However, there are two tables reserved for "drop in customers", so you can always try your luck - usually you can get seats after a short wait. It is also possible to eat at the bar.
As I mentioned I eat here quite often and the quality of the food has always been great. I especially recommend the bruschettas, the salmon & asparagus, the patatas aioli & bravas and the lamb chops. And of course the crema catalana, yum! When dining late in the evening (around 10pm or so), some of the tapas (like the wonderful tortilla) can unfortunately be sold out.
Tapasta's sister restaurant Kipinä at Kaisaniemi is larger, but the atmosphere is not as welcoming and the service not as good.
