I have been in this hotel many times during the years and as older its get, so the worst this hotel is. No renovations done and it feel old and out of time. The location is nice by the lake outside the city centre. I am surprised that for a king size bed they couldn't even have the right size sheet and had to use two which was inconvinience. Beside the Wi-Fi, everything in this hotel feel like going back in time, if you are into the 80's nostalgic, maybe its for you.

Scandic rosendahl is located a bit outside of the City, around 15 minutes walk or short bus/taxi ride. However this location offers something you won't get from the city hotels:
- Beach just outside the hotel
-Good cross-country running/skiing possibilties
-Free parking outdoors

Otherwise typical scandic experience with decent breakfast buffet, mediocre restaurant, playroom for children. Rooms from early 90s are bit outdated yet comfortable.

Choose this if you do not mind the off-city location and like
-Free morning/evening sauna with pool.
-Spacious rooms, playroom and free beds for kids
-free parking

Choose the city location (Scandic Tampere City) if:
-You want to experience good shopping/restaurant/bar scene
-Prefer to have ironing possibility in your room (see the attached pictures of hotel's ironing room, the strangest ironing room i have ever seen)
-Visit summertime and want a good air-conditioning

The hotel is a bit outside of the town by a lake and a huge park. The location is not a big problem, as Tampere is a small town and every corner is reachable in 10 minutes.

The hotel is a modern building, which has been renowated every now and then. The public areas face the lake in front of the hotel, and the rooms the lake or the park/forest around (and also the entrance/parking area).

Service was very friendly and efficient, the food served during the 3 day meeting of good standard, though salmon was served as one option during every day. The breakfest buffet was good.

The rooms have probably been renovated late 80s or early 90s, which is reflected in the colours: green/turqoise shades everywhere. The room was tranquil and the bed good. Thinking of the price (appr. 100 €), I found the quality of the hotel very satisfactory. I also agree with the fellow traveller below: hotels in Finland tend be of good quality, hence giving three stars meaning "neutral/average" actually is quite positive.

The Scandic Rosendahl is a quick bus ride to downtown Tampere. In return for that slight inconvenience, the traveller gets a nice room in a nice hotel with (if you're lucky) a great view of the lake. With breakfast and wi-fi included, the hotel was a good value. Our room was nicely decorated and the hotel was very quiet. I would have no reservations staying here again.
