We arrived late at night but was allocated a nice room overlooking the HUGE pool and beach. Clean, spacious but shower a bit pathetic. We were on H/B basis and had to hike from the main hotel to the restaurant area past the bungalows everyday (not for people with walking difficulties) for breakfast and dinner which is all buffet style. Good choice for breakfast but dinner became repetitive and boring and the food was never kept hot. A couple of days into our stay, we were informed the hotel was having a conference from "Turkcell" mobile phone company and that they would be there for 3 days. The only way I can describe their arrival is being "beseiged" by 1000 or more delegates, all young locals who took over the complex completely. The restaurant was turned into a free-for-all "bunfight" and unless you are into fighting for your food, I would make sure you check before arriving if the hotel has another booked. It was a relief when they had all gone that you could actually eat in peace and get a sunbed and relax. That's until the building work started adjacent to our room. There are extensions being built to the main hotel, restaurant and pool area and it was very apparent by the building noise (hammers, drills, lorries coming&going etc) which echoed around the pool area. The work is not due to finish until the winter. We used the courtesy bus to go into town which was 60p and v.efficient. Town centre is a bit hectic but we chose a restaurant called "NIAZI's" opp.the Dome Hotel which serves fabulous food and was recommended to us. Don't bother with any around the main harbour. They were overpriced and dirty most of them. Overall, I would not return to Northern Cyprus. It's littered with burnt-out cars, construction everywhere and generally looks tatty. It's a work in progress to catch up with the South but will take many years to get there and when the hotels are advertised as 5 stars.....take my word for it that they are not!
