Don`t confuse this with Monastary Village , THIS IS BELLAPAIS GARDENS HOTEL!! (Trip Advisor doesn`t understand) . Different vibe, different price! We stayed here 3 times and going again in August. Almost bombproof when it comes to "NO KIDS". 100 yards below the abbey, fantastic location, rooms good if duplex with balcony. Bougenvilla needs trim on some balconies to maximise view towards sea. Breakfast room superb setting, food slightly better than average. Rather steep incline to pool area so unsuitable for less fit/mobile. Can be unaccessible if busy in village at night resulting in parking 300 yards + from hotel. Pool very good, deep end cooler in August than most. Preying mantis seen on plants around pool + various lizards. Up to 7 coaches at once take tourists to abbey in peak periods, can get congested. Walk up hill past Lawrence Durrell residence and have some home made lemonade in GUTHRIE`S BISTRO. Talk to the charming host, Deirdre.
