If you read other (negative) reports about this Hotel and take them to heart then you stand a good chance of missing out on a fantastic holiday. After we booked we read some of those reviews and it made us quite apprehensive, we read of Rude Staff, Dirty Uncleaned Rooms and High Prices - NONE OF WHICH WE FOUND.

We are fortunate enough to travel quite widely including some of the best hotels in Dubai and North America and found that the Jasmine Court, although possibly not an international 5* it was certainly 5* for the area.

The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily, the pool was large and there were ample sunbeds and clean towels for the guests to use. The restaurants served good food (the breakfast buffet was exceptional) and offered good value for money. The bars, especially the pool bar were priced ok, an Ice Cold pint of Lager was 7YTL (approx £2.30 - That's cheaper than my local in England) and childrens drinks were only £1.00 - £1.80.

To sum up we had a fantastic holiday at this Hotel and would recommend it to others!

We chose this hotel first in 2001 because it has a tennis court and we play every day . Three minutes to your sunbed by a bay a quarter mile across and safe to swim both ways for a good start to the day . In late afternoon we visit the big pool with bar and only a mile away is an Olympic size pool where my wife loves to swim.
The suites are super with good air conditioning . They say don't bring in food and drink but we've always brought in without concealment wine ,whisky,bread,cheese , fruit
tea and coffee kept in the fridge in our suite without any complaint from the hotel.Supplies from a good supermarket ten mins. walk away where you can also get a very cheap small kettle.

Night and morning the al fresco buffet is tremendous-at night there's live musical accompaniment . Adjoining the hotel is a big Casino. Cabs into town are cheap and always available. The once a week Cyprus night is fun Staff are wonderfully friendlyand multi lingual ,laundry and room services are fast. It's only a short walk to the beauty parlour. My wife uses the gym daily and gets massage. TV is o/k but hadn't
been updated by 2005.

On the downside ,occasionally kitchen waste from passing boats floats into the bay and isn't despatched fast enough .If only that could be sorted. And how I wish they would answer emails.

We'll be at Jasmine Court again in 2006 which makes it every year
for six years and twice in two of them. They must be doing something right.

5 star facilities with 1 star attitude. Beware the Mini Bar Police. Just walked in on me one afternoon when I was half naked to check the stock. If you go check the stock yourself on arrival. If you have the audacity to walk into reception with a supermarket bag the guard on the door directs you to reception where they search your bag for contraband (illicit booze and food I think). As previously reported the rooms are of an excellent size but ruined by filthy carpets and the ever prevailing smell of stale tobacco smoke.
We kept well away from the place and enjoyed Kyrenia.

We are a family of 6 just returned from an enjoyable stay at jasmine court. I had read the reviews after booking and was a little concerned but I do not know what everyone is beefing about or perhaps the management has been reading this site!
o.k. by English standards not a 5 star hotel but we are not paying english 5 star prices.
Our rooms were vast clean tastefully decorated. We were given a king sized bed without requesting one. It is the first hotel that has taken our request to have the childrens rooms near ours seriously (sometimes we have been on another side of aroad from them)
The food was wonderful in quantity, variety and presentation, something for everyone and vegetarians do not worry.
the pool area is well cared for and the gardens kept pretty. There are a lot of different sitting areas by pool and sea and certainly at easter room for all.
The staff were polite and eager to please with the possible exception of some of the reception staffwho were frankly inconsistent and took a while to sort out problems. For example it tookover 24 hours to get a keycard which would open the childrens suite. I think theproblem is that English is not as widely spoken as other countries we have stayed and our Turkish is non existent.
We regularly picnicked on food and wine from the local supermarket using the mini-bar fridge for storage and no one seemed bothered. The notice forbidding this is well hidden at the back of the information folder and if I had not read it here I possibly would never had noticed.
On the downside....everything extra is expensive(food all over the area is pricey but very good)the mini bar is extortionate and the laundry service too expensive(there is a good big bath and a balconey to dry it on!!!)
The location is a mix of rundown towns building sites with some real jewels thrown in.St Hilarion and bellapaixare really something (both free for children as are all the historical sites) There are mountain walks and the scenery at the moment is green with an abundance of wild flowers.
The highlight for the children was a £20 each boat trip from the harbour at Kyrenia. We were out for over 5 hours sailing swimming fishing, a buffet lunch of freshly caught and cooked while we watched fish and chips was included as was tea and biscuits later. It was organised by a father and son team and they encouraged the children to snorkel fish walk the plank off the boat and even let them all have a go and steering the boat. A wonderful last day.
One thing i would change if I return (and I don't actually think the area warrants another visit)is i would not change much money to Lira a surprising ammount of places prefer to be paid inEnglish and you get a MUCH better deal paying inEnglis currency at the present.
