We were booked into this hotel as a small group. It's about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the town, which was OK at this time of year. The upstairs rooms we had had a nice view of the mountains. The downstairs ones were dark with banana trees very close to the windows.
The rooms were reasonably comfortable but did not smell clean on arrival (a season's sweat on the mattress and pillows even though the linen was clean). The daily "cleaning" was haphazard to say the least and simply moved around the dirt on the floor. Taps shot water out sideways in the bathroom. There was no bedside switch for any of the lights and it was nearly too dim to read at night. When we had heavy rain the hall roof leaked and the carpets were sodden.
Of more concern - a couple of small pieces of jewellery went missing during our stay. My balcony door kept getting stuck but despite showing this to the staff they couldn't be bothered to fix it. In my laundry, two handkerchiefs went missing and this was explained with a shrug and a dismissal. Breakfast was fresh but variety got less every day until our guide had a word with the hotel.
The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool area and a not bad indoor one for colder Autumn evenings. It had a fridge and a kettle which is always welcome. There was some sign that work was going on to refurbish parts of the hotel - maybe it was just very end of seasonish. However this is a good example where caring staff could have made all the difference and they didn't.
if I was coming to Kyrenia again I would look elsewhere first.
