We were booked into this hotel as a small group. It's about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the town, which was OK at this time of year. The upstairs rooms we had had a nice view of the mountains. The downstairs ones were dark with banana trees very close to the windows.

The rooms were reasonably comfortable but did not smell clean on arrival (a season's sweat on the mattress and pillows even though the linen was clean). The daily "cleaning" was haphazard to say the least and simply moved around the dirt on the floor. Taps shot water out sideways in the bathroom. There was no bedside switch for any of the lights and it was nearly too dim to read at night. When we had heavy rain the hall roof leaked and the carpets were sodden.

Of more concern - a couple of small pieces of jewellery went missing during our stay. My balcony door kept getting stuck but despite showing this to the staff they couldn't be bothered to fix it. In my laundry, two handkerchiefs went missing and this was explained with a shrug and a dismissal. Breakfast was fresh but variety got less every day until our guide had a word with the hotel.

The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool area and a not bad indoor one for colder Autumn evenings. It had a fridge and a kettle which is always welcome. There was some sign that work was going on to refurbish parts of the hotel - maybe it was just very end of seasonish. However this is a good example where caring staff could have made all the difference and they didn't.

if I was coming to Kyrenia again I would look elsewhere first.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and arrived late at night so we weren't sure what it was like till the next day. We did ask for a different room straight away as the balcony overlooked the car park, this was done immediately and were given one overlooking the pool. Our room was a reasonable size and clean (no fleas here) and the beds were "ok" the air con was effecient and needed to be as daytime outside was around 40c and nights 30c, this made the walk into Kyrenia in the evening a shirt wringing affair and even the restaurants at the harbour had electric fans on outside! a taxi is the obvious answer even for such a short journey, we did use our hire car once.
The pool area is attractive although the bananas and other plants were so overgrown people had to duck to walk to their apartments. The barman/ porter/ helper, Mehmet(?) was very friendly and helpful and genuinely liked to chat.
the breakfast choice was a bit limited but the bread dried fruit and melon suited us. Meals in Kyrenia were hit and miss and after just coming from Olu Deniz in Turkey where we had bad food experiences we were wary about the food. On the whole we found both Turkey and N Cyprus expensive with cans of orange /fresh orange £2 and meals on a par with UK . Half of the guests were Turkish or English Cypriots, the Turks and Cypriots we found to be polite, quiet and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here but would probably try somewhere else if we go again.

We have stayed here before and decided to re-visit as we had family out on holiday. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and we were shown to our Villa straight away. My husband went straight to the Villa and found it was infested with fleas. We straight away asked for new rooms and there was no fuss and we were given 2 Studio Apartments. The apartments were ok, a bit dated and pretty basic. The livin area had an old cooker, sink, fridge, plastic table set and a sofa. OK if you are staying a few days but not great if your staying a week plus.

The bedroom had air conditioning which took an age to work but if you left it on all day cooled the bedroom down for the evening! The breakfast was ok and a selection of fruit, toast, cereal and the worst tea I have ever drunk! We all felt ill following our trip to Kyrenia but that could have been the last nights meal in Bellapais, not necessarily Club Z.

The staff were friendly but the hotel needs a long overdue renovation. The pool area is nice and there is a bar near the pool. The hotel has limited parking but we always managed to find a spot. Perhaps because the hotel is not fully booked up, but why!?

I would not wish to return to this hotel again even though its about a 10 min walk to town. Im sure there are better hotels which might be so near town but only a short taxi drive away.
