Just returned from a week at the Cypria Bay hotel. Firstly make sure you do book the Bay and not the Maris. We booked with Thomas Cook then used this useful site to find out they might try and move us next door. We went back to Thomas Cook and ensured before we went that we would be in the Bay! Make sure you do this or you will be disappointed.
Arrived early hours to find the hotel was very quiet! which was nice although there was no adequate food available at all which was a shame as we were hungry from the long flight
The room we were allocated had lovely balcony and nice sea view (we had booked this before we went). The room was small but very clean and more than suitable for us.
Pool area was very clean and looked lovely but the water was freezing cold. We only ventured into the pool twice because it was so cold.
The main problem with this hotel is the food, it was at best very average. Good for families with kids but the variety was awful, same thing day in day out. Although we had paid for all inc we ate out most nights. There is a lovely Italian restaurant over the road from the hotel which was about 40 euro for a meal for two and really lovely surroundings.
The hotel is not quite in Paphos but the bus is very regular and we went up to the harbour a couple of days.
Water park which is 10minute walk from the hotel was excellent and worth the money. Don’t go to the other water park in Limisol as it is just the same but over an hour away on a coach.
My other complaint about our holiday was the bars of a night, or lack of them. There was an area known as bar street but that was a bit too lively for our liking, we prefer nice bars or classy nightclubs, it felt very Tenerife like to me.
Weather was ok but we were told was unusually cold and cloudy for that time of year in Cyprus. Holiday was good overall, fortunately i was with someone who you couldn’t possibly have a bad time with.
Paphos is nice and quiet but i wouldn’t go back.
Also one final tip if you book through Thomas Cook, check you luggage allowance as we had to do some major reshifting of our luggage so we wouldnt be charged.
If you have booked you will enjoy it so dont worry, just expect to eat out a few nights
