As far as all-inclusives go, I have to say that this is, beyond doubt, the best I have ever stayed at. The entertainment team are phenomenal. The kids club is excellent, the hotel is spotless, the food is varied - the beer is on tap 24-7. There was one moaning chap complaining that there was no bitter. There was unlimited cocktails, lager, spirits, mixers, soft-drinks, tea, coffee, but sadly for him, no bitter. Therefore, if you want you holiday to revolve completely around the availability of Bitter, this is not the place for you. If, however, you are not a grumpy old man, but are up for a bit of a laugh, a spotless hotel, superior service, excellent food and fantastic entertainment, then give it a go. I agree with some of the other reviews, it is a little bit like a holiday camp, but I disagree that it's in a bad way. Dido and his team work tirelessly. If you are a miserable person, you will have a miserable time. My 4-year-old daughter had never been to a kid's club before and we were very reluctant to allow her to go to the Thomson kid's club. We had always looked down on parent's who 'dump' their kids in the kids club and then go off on their own. However, to be brutally honest, i now feel totally embarrassed and ashamed of our attitude. Our daughter would've stayed there all holiday, she loved it so much. We realised that it was US being selfish on previous holidays not letting her go to Kids club.
Things I wouldn't do again: 1. Hire a car - we went up to the big Monastery at Kykkos - what a mission - it's only about 25 miles, but it took 2.75 hours to get there - the roads are diabolical and very dangerous, I hardly got out of second gear the hills are so steep. The Troodos mountains offer some spectacular views, but if I ever went again, I would take an organised tour. Paphos Harbour was a little bit to touristy for me, but this is no way any fault of the hotel, which is way out of the town centre. The people who have said it's a 10-20 minute walk must have the same doctor as Dwain Chambers. It's too hot to walk, although the bus service is great. Paphos market is well worth giving a miss, contrary to what the reps might tell you. There is a McDonalds, a KFC, Debenhams, M&S,. Next - you get the picture. It's not traditional in any way, shape, or form. However, the hotel offers all you need so it doesn't actually matter. All in all, I could not fault the hotel, or Thomsons.
