“Brilliant holiday”

Pafian Sun Holiday Village

Just got back from a fantastic week all inclusive at the Pafian, what can i say, im a single mum with 2 children aged 14 & 15, everyone was friendly, guests and hotel stafff, entertainment staff were good fun too, plenty to keep you busy day and night, nice large pool, which you didnt have to be up at a ridiculas time to get a sunbed by!

The food was excellant, my girl is quite fussy but always found plenty to eat, come breakfast, lunch and dinner, also in between you can go inside and get cakes snacks etc.

The only thing i found expensive was the air con, and we needed this as we had a mini heatwave while we where there, we were told though that it is free between jul- aug.

The other downside is the hotel is quite a way out from the resort, so if like me you like to have a stroll to work off your dinner theres not much surrounding the pafian, you can get a bus right outside the hotel, but this works out quite expensive if theres a few of you doing it every night.

On the whole couldnt fault the accomadation, i would defaniatey go back or happiliy reccomend it to one of my friends.

stayed here between 16-22 june and had a great time my husband and I went purely to chill out for a week and normally we dont speak to anyone while we are away but here it wa a real village atmosphere and we spoke to loads of lovely people the food could not be faulted a great choice, the beer and wine were good but we felt the shorts were quite weak the hotel staff were freindly and no long queues for food or drinks. The pool was fabulous one of the cleanest we have experienced. The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate and clean. The entertainment was OK but to be honest after a long days sun bathing you didnt want to do much anyway. We played bingo every night which was a first for us but quite enjoyable and the prize money was high. If you are looking for an excellent value chilled out all inclusive pafian sun fits the bill. It is a family orientated hotel but as a middle aged couple on our own we still found it enjoyable.

Just got back from a week at the Pafian sun holiday village. Have to say when we first arrived we were shocked, the pool was packed, no sunbeds and full of kids, turned out it was the cypriots bank holiday weekend and theyd taken over the entire hotel. Thankfully i think a lot of people complained about them and they left the day after. The hotel itself is in a gorgeous location with beautiful views of the sea, bus stop right outside which runs very frequent into Paphos and Coral bay, cheap as well- 1euro 35cents anywhere. Theres a supermarket across the road if needed, although the hotel has a mini market.
Room was excellent, had no problems what so ever, nice double bed, nice living room space with fridge, sofa bed if needed. Ended up with sea view, although we paid a little extra for this, deffinately worth it. Maid service every 5 or 6 days, towels changed etc.
Food-being 15weeks pregnant ive pretty much lost my appetite so hard to comment on the food, but my fiance and others we spoke to loved it, a variety every day with theme nights each evening, always something that everyone could find, kids had their own section.
Pool area-lovely, nice big area, always some kind of activity going on if you want to join in, the entertainment team work really hard at this. Had no trouble getting a sunbed and parasol, although if you got up in the afternoon there wasnt much space left. Only problem we had was we all thought WAY too many kids in the hotel outside of school holidays. People go away out of school holidays to get away from kids and its not pleasant when all you want to do is relax and some random kid comes up and squirts you with giant water pistols. Kids should either have more respect for other holiday makers or go in school holidays period.
Also, be prepared to pay 63euros if you want airconditioning in your room if going before july or august, as its free if you go then, but if not then thats the price. We HAD to get the aircon as couldnt have lasted the week without it its so hot.
Overall the hotel was lovely, food was lovely, pool lovely and had an excellent time, would deffinately go back and reccomend this hotel, just beware if you want a last relaxing holiday, as the hotel is over run with kids, not a problem with kids unless they run riot and cant get a minutes peace round the pool.
Also have to comment on the entertainment, both entertainers rich and helen worked extreemley hard all week, although the adults entertainment in the evening was pretty poor, it was good for the kids. Tony the rep also great, although had no problems he was always about, saying hello making sure everyone was happy. One last mention on trips-GO ON GEORGES FUN BUS! Fab day out and completely made our holiday, a day to remember and got a dvd of the day too, bbq on the beach, baths of adonis, cyprus art college and other visits of the day whilst being entertained.

“Fantastic time had by all at the Pafian Sun”

Pafian Sun Holiday Village

Myself and my 2 boys stayed at the Pafian on an all inclusive package and it was fantastic.

Our rooms were clean and regularly serviced by the maids. The food was of a high standard and there was lots of variety. Upto 4 courses during lunch and dinner.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and I was very impressed by the Thomas cook reps who were excellent with all of the children- Helen and Rick were brilliant -Big thank you.

I had read a few reviews and IMO its not exactly the middle of nowhere. The bus stops right outside to go in either direction to Coral Bay or Pathos. These buses usually run until about 6pm. The number 11 runs to the harbour and finishes about 11pm.

We got a taxi to the harbour for 12 euros but beware as some firms will try and rip you off.

We went to a wedding and the reception was at a restaurant near to our hotel. I knew we weren't too far from Pafian but as it was night and quite dark I didn't want to walk with my children but the taxi driver was charging 10 euros... We walked the 200 yards

“Overall ok, but don't book taxis at Reception!”

Following other comments on this website, yes you do get what you pay for. Therefore if you want a quiet relaxing holiday where you can also sleep at night (e.g. if you have young children who want to be in bed before 11pm), an apartment with a seaview located away from the main noisey stage is recommended! This also ensures you get a lovely view from your balcony. We only tried the breakfasts and the buffet selection while extensive, would have been better if one or two items were changed.

Yes the apartments are basic, but for 2 adults and one small child staying for one week I guess they are ok. Unfortunately they are definitely not a true 4 star hotel (and I work in the industry so I know!) and considering how much we paid for a much larger apartment in a hotel with 3 pools in Tunisia last year, I can't really say we received vaule for money. Although we booked via On the Beach holidays and it was considerably less than booking direct with Airtours or Thomsons as the time we booked.

The location is not great and there is definitely no beach as advertised, but the bus service located just outside is cheap, fast (to Coral Bay or Paphos) and the buses are air conditioned and comfortable. The Crazy Spoon across the road from the main hotel entrance, is great for lunch or dinner - cheap food and fabulous friendly service from Nick.

The only real problem we had with this hotel was on the last day. We were advised to book a taxi from reception to Paphos Airport. On the inbound journey we were advised from the tourist board (in the airport) that you should only travel in taxi's with meters. We were therefore confused when the taxi that we had booked through the Pafian Sun attempted to charge us 40 euros for a trip that was clearly showing 19 euros on the meter. On the taxi doors they all clearly display a customer charter which states each km should be charged at 0.59 euros, the journey from the Pafian Sun is around 35kms - so a total cost of around 20 euros would be correct. When we queried the excessive 40 euros charge, we were told that this was a 'deal' that the taxi company had with all bookings made via the Pafian Sun. The hotel is therefore keeping the additional money as commission for bookings and we were also threatened by the taxi driver that if we did not pay this, his boss would come to the airport to sort us out! Luckily I spoke to a security guard at the airport who agreed we should only pay the 19 euros and this is what we did, funnily enough the driver then left us alone. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT BOOK AIRPORT TRANSFERS THROUGH THE HOTEL!
