“Good Hotel - Great Location”

We have been to stay at this hotel twice now, second time around it was just as nice as the first. Greated when we arrived with fresh orange, even though it was 1 in the morning!!

Only thing we had issues with this time around was the air conditioning, and we always seem to end up with a broken TV.

However, the staff are friendly, very helpful and sort out your problems quickly.

I would definately stay here again!

Love the pool, the snack bars need improving but the area is relaxing, clean and safe. Wonderful views and a short stroll of about 2 mins to the beach. You can wander all along the beach right to Paphos harbour!!! Its a bit of a walk and you do go through a little place where the nudists come out but it was a good walk late afternoon, stopping in a couple of the sea side cafe's for a drink and some greek salad.. yum.

I love Paphos in general and we spent most of our time out of our room so the air con wasnt an issue... Lovely cocktails across the road! Go Kart track just 100M away for some fun, and a water park very near by... PLUS its one of the first stops that the coaches have from the airport...

Would definately say most would enjoy a stay here... if your after something a little more expensive and newer, stay next door at the cypria bay... they are linked and you can use both pools but i found that the Bay was always crowded.

Me and my husband have just returned from our 10 day honeymoon in Cyprus.
We had originally booked to stay at the Riu Cypria Bay Hotel but when we arrived i wasnt happy with our ground floor room with a view of the car park so i asked if we could have a room on a higher floor, i was told that all other rooms were booked but that we could move to their sister hotel next door the Cypria Maris Hotel, which we were happy to do and soooo glad that we did. we were given a gorgeous sea view room on the 4th floor with a bottle of champagne. The room was of a good size, with mini bar, towels which were put in all sorts of shapes during our stay, the pool was too chilly for me but we went in the sea which was just a 2 minute walk away. There is a supermarket across the road which is very handy, 20 minutes walk away is Paphos harbour which is certainly worth a look, if you are lucky you will see some pelicans.
To the left of the hotel is just a large row of hotels but to the right there are bars and restaurants.
The Tomb of the Kings is a short bus ride away, only 80cents to go as far as you want and the buses are air conditioned. If you get a chance go on a jeep safari to the troodos mountains, the views are mind blowing and this truly is a worth while trip, you go to many places including to the top of mount olympus and to view aphrodites rock.
The hotel was extremely clean and well presented. Previous reviewers have put about cockroaches but trust me we didnt see any bugs or insects of this nature and we did not get bitten once, i can only imagine this reviewer was wearing something to attract them!! We did see alot of lizards, but if you leave them alone they will leave you alone.
We were all inclusive and the food was fab, loads of choice and the meat was cooked perfectly every time.
There is a cocktail bar which was lovely, bar staff are very efficient and friendly.
I think this hotel is being refurbished which in my opinion will be a shame as i loved the charm of the place and decor, their sister hotel next door looked alot more modern but lacked the charm that the maris has, but that is just my opinion.
I definately recommend this hotel, very comfortable and clean, staff were polite and friendly we had a fantastic honeymoon.

Have just arrived back today, thought I needed to share my experience. The hotel looks really dated and needs a overhaul, which apparently is happening. The staff were incredibly rude at times, There were cockroaches in reception actually inside the hotel, Which is a little bit concerning as its on the same level as the dining room, Food was average very basic we were half board. Breakfast as ok but dinner was not so good. There was thirteen of us staying here three of us had a bug in the four days we were there so not good. Our room was ok, air con very noisy, towel rail was hanging off. The only positive thing about this hotel was the housekeeping staff, our room was kept lovely and they were so friendly, There are a long row of hotels along this road cypria bay next door which is the sister hotel of the riu is much nicer!

“Friendly and Pleasant. Food very good.”

Our wedding party was moved from Cypria Bay Hotel to the Maris. Not as plush and as big, but food was in abundance and varied. Staff and manager could not have been more helpful, smiling and cheerful. Rooms were pleasant, well maintained everyday towels all designed in different shapes on the bed. Complitmentary flowers, little bottle of wine, sweets, all proved a very nice touch to walk in to everyday. Air conditioning brilliant, but a little noisy, get used to after a couple of days. No shower cap included, bought one at the local supermarket across the road, which sold everything you can imagine. No toddler pool, my Grandson had to be held the whole time, but you can use the Cypria Bay toddler pool, which meant we would have been separated from all other family though. No where to walk to at night, these two hotels are on a dual carriageway, but you wouldn't know it from the inside. The entertainment in The Maris is not good, mostly a little piano bar in main concourse reception at nights. No shows etc. they are all in the Cypria Bay Hotel next door. The Maris has a very friendly bar though. Cocktails are brilliant, tried them all.
Mosquito bites are hell!! take plenty of repelent. Hardly any children staying in this hotel, I would say for more mature holiday maker.. although there was a little disco for an hour at night for children. This hotel is to be refurbished end of this year to bring into line with the Cyrpia Bay...
Bus stop outside hotel take you to Paphos Bay and town only co st 80p well worth it, it was lovely there, shops, cafes, restaurants, views to die for...across the sea. Glass bottom boat rides.. only a 10 mins bus ride away.

The only small hitch, was that a wedding party member had two items of her children's clothing stolen from their hotel room. There is a safe in each room. My advice would be lock your valuables etc in your suitcase if in any doubt..

“5th time in Cyprus”

Hotel Riu Cypria Maris

This is the 5th time we have stayed in Cyprus and the first time at this hotel. We understand that the hotel is closing in October for a refurbishment which is well overdue. The other 4 star hotels we have stayed in, were far more superior in accomodation and food.
Although there was a good selection of food for breakfast, the toasters could do with being replaced and also the fruit juices were not regularly topped up and hence you were getting only water!
Also the toiletories were not being replaced when used in the bathroom.
The staff were excellent though, very friendly and helpful.
It would appear that the hotel has let standards drop, possibly due to imminent refurbishment.
Would recommend the Black Rose bar for cheap drinks and meals which are huge!
