Stayed mid November for relaxation and sun both of which we had in abundance.
Booked a superior sea view room and were delighted to be upgraded on arrival to one of four rooms with private pool. Pool too cold to use of course which is why we were upgraded but still happy to help fill the rooms ! Best bit being the peace and privacy, able to sit on our own private patio or lie on the loungers by the little pool and read with no other sounds except the waves. The room was on the small side for "superior" but clean and had good shower in the tiny bathroom. Flat screen TV (never used) and tea and coffee making facilities - also not used as we were all inclusive and hot drinks were good in the bar etc.
The staff at AGB are a credit to the hotel, efficient, friendly and smiling. It is unfair to single out anyone in particular as they all work very hard indeed to ensure guests are happy.
Stayed all inclusive. Drinks good, breakfast and lunch as expected. Dinner a bit disappointing but ok. Stayed in other Atlantica hotels the past two winters and food was better.
A la carte restaurant was a huge disappointment - waited 20 mins for menu then nearly another 15 for cold starter to arrive so v hungry by then ( nearly left and went into main restaurant two metres away.) Staff run off their feet so felt sorry and stayed. Then the main course was absolutely awful, couldn't eat it, tough iinedible slices of beef on foul tasting mash. We were offered another main but declined as service so slow. desert ok but left before coffee. Glad we didn't pay for the experience. Sad thing was it was Italian night in the main restaurant which looked nice !
Location of the hotel is not good which we knew before we went but still missed a walk before or after meals. Main road unpaved and dirty so no point going there. Did hire a car for four days from the little place across from the hotel ( porto cabin ) and his prices were very good. So found nearby cliff walks and went further afield to Paphos, Latise and Polis etc plus off the beaten track.
Thomson flight home was a nightmare, new plane had teething troubles with air conditioning too hot, too cold or odd smell. Felt very ill and never ill usually ( fly 5 times a year all the time )
Would we recommend ? Okay for a quiet break, would not come in high season. Would not come again as prefer better food, this was more 3* than 4*.
Superior seaview have amazing sunset views. Pool facing rooms noisy. Side rooms look over waste land...
