Stayed at the Aqua Sol in early May for 4 nights, we just wanted a cheap, short break in the sun and we got it!

Weather was fantastic, really nice temperature, not too hot that you didn't want to get off your sun lounger. Pools and sea were a bit too chilly for me to venture into though and wore a little cardi at night as it got chilly.

The Aqua Sol itself is fine, it's cheap and you get what you pay for. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, which was quite big, basic, clean and suited us fine. There are 2 nice pools at the hotel and it's less than a 10 minute stroll into the main area (which was quite nice to walk after a big meal!!). It is at the bottom of a steep hill and we saw some older people and others with pushchairs struggling abit.

The only downsides to the hotel, for me, were the fact that it's right next door to a building site and although we were not disturbed by any noise (as noone was doing any work whilst we were there) the site was an eyesore and created alot dust and rubble, which didn't aid the journeys up and down the hill!

The 2nd downside for me was the plot of land that led from the hotel down to the sea. I don't know if the hotel actually own this land, but it was very unkept and wasn't very nice to look at, whilst laying by the pool.

This was our 1st visit to Cyprus and Coral Bay was more "English" than I thought it would be. We purposely chose a smaller resort as we didn't want the hustle and bustle and "Brits Abroad" reputation of Paphos, Limmasol or Aiya Napa. There were no large groups of teenagers, but the whole resort is aimed at the English, with karaoke every night, Elvis and Tom Jones impersonators and burger and chips on every menu.

So, all in all the break served it's purpose. We were glad we were only there for 4 nights (as we'd had enough of the naff entertainment) and if I consider going to Cyprus again, I'll visit the North where it's supposed to be more traditional.

Just back from this hotel and it's great. Being honest, the entertainment was virtually non-existent in Octobert other than quiz nights and bingo and the on-site restaurant is nothing more than basic but the strip five minute's walk away provides plenty of entertainment, bars and restaurants. The rooms are clean and kept tidy on a regular basis and the pools are good with plenty of beds available. We have been twice now and will be happy to go back again. This place is an excellent base whether you want to veg out by the pool all day or spend your time exploring the island.

Hey just came back from this hotel/apartment and I found this place nice to stay in with plenty of sun beds, has a good sized pool.

The shop onsite is handy but only for small items like bread, drinks and stuff like that but dont be buying alcohol from here its overpriced!

The bars in the hotel are quite reasonable and the food is fine for lunch but wouldnt stay there for my dinner as i preffered to go to the main strip with plenty of choice.

The hotel is situated down quite a steep hill and I found that it was hard work on a warm day. still impreased and would stay here again when i go back to cyprus

I stayed for a week at the Aquasol at the end of August 07 on a Self Catering bases. I was a bit afraid after reading some of the reviews but as it was a last minute booking we were not expecting 5*. We arrived at 10pm at night and were checked in straight away with no problems with also a lovely free drink. The apartment for Self Catering was basic but very nice. We had a 4 person room and it was very spacious and also air conditioning. We were on the ground floor and so there was no real balcony. We did have an area where we could sit and our view was trees, but it was nice and private. The hotel is situated at the bottom of a steep hill so would not be suitable for elderly at all. We walked up every night and it was ok but during the day would be harder in the heat. The Aquasol is situated in the Coral Bay area of Paphos. Dont be fooled. It is not in the centre of Paphos as were led to believe. However, Coral Bay is lovely with enough bars and restaurants in "Bar Street" to keep you entertained. It was nice and relaxed. No loud "yobs"!! about. We ate out every night and the food was first class. You can get a bus into paphos, the number 10 or 15. Don't get a taxi. This can cost up to £10 but the bus is only 80cents. Paphos has more restaurants and shops.
The aquasol was nice for a week. Some of the staff need to take lessons in common courtesy. The entertainment rep at the hotel does try her best although some of the games are boring.
