We booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend. He stayed there numerous times. The hotel has a good location in Coal Bay. We stayed in the classic suite which was a lovely suite complete with jacuzzi bath and seperate shower in the bathroom. I would have expected more from the suite had I not got a good price for the suite
for the weekend. I would have been disappointed to pay full price but it was fine for our requirements. The hotel is very clean and the
staff are so friendly and polite and can not do enough to help you and always have a chat despite being busy. The food was not as good as expected and the variety was not great. If you were a vegetarian you would have had to opt for chips and salad every lunch time and there was limited choice for the vegetarian mail meal in the evening.
The puddings were not made by the hotel and bought in, this was very obvious and despite understanding it is a busy hotel, I was dissapointed by this. The staff did make up for the food disapointment though. The pools were nice and the sunbeds were available all day despite what time you arrived at the pool. The pool
bar was great as well. The gym looked good as well as the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Overall I would return to the hotel but it would not be my first choice in future.

After booking our holiday and reading some of the terrible reviews about this hotel we were not expecting a lot. But we were very surprised and had a great time. Rooms are small but modern and clean. Food is buffet which was varied and always edible (we chose All Inclusive which was great). Pool area well kept - plenty of loungers dotted about everywhere - if you want to get away from the noise of the pool there is a lot of green area around with loungers. Kiddies pool fab - the fountain was always a lot of fun. Beach is about a 10 minute walk - sea is warm and clean and loungers are not that expensive. Spa is divine - it is a Decleor spa - treatments are amazing and so reasonable in comparison to the UK. Kiddies club was the only thing that we could fault and that was only because some days it was not on because the girl in charge of it was working in the bar. But the kiddies pirate ship play area outside kept kids amused for hours. All in all a great holiday!

Holidayed 25 July - 8 August and contrary to other reviews we were AI and experienced no problems with any bar or restaurant staff in fact they could not do enough for us. They went over and above just providing excellent service. They were friendly and showed an intrest in how you were enjoying your holiday. They could not have been more helpful, whilst still having to work in very demanding conditions.

We thought the food was excellent with a huge choice and if what you wanted was not available then you only had to ask as we did for tuna and fish without any sauce on it. Our son aged 10yrs is a vegetarian, and will not eat meat or fish but this was never any problem there was always loads for him to choose from, and I don't mean only eating chips, chips, and chips. The staff would make him pasta without meat when he asked, cheese toasties, and basically any thing they could.

Rooms were good with great AC - the first week of our holiday the temperatures were sweltering and I appreciate the comment regarding the long trousers, however nothing stopped you changing once you had completed your meal, which we often did.

New Animation Rep Asha arrived 3 days into our holiday and picked up the entertainment programme which on our arrival had been poor. Asha ensured that all those wishing to participate both adults and children alike had an excellent time. The numbers of people taking part increasing from one or two up to twenty plus. There was adults, and children's water polo, darts, archery, table tennis, Shuffle board which was great fun, although I never managed to win, and loads of other activities.

There was a great set of people from different parts of England mainly, and everyone got on really well.

Having booked this hotel we then read the reviews and some of them were very negative and we were unsure of what to expect. We were at the hotel from 28th July to 5th August 2007 all inclusive. We arrived at the hotel at 01.15am and were met by a friendly member of staff who checked us in quickly so we were able to retire to our room. The rooms were very clean and laundered every day. The food was very good. Breakfast ranged from continental, full english, toast, fresh fruit, meat and cheese selections. Lunch was also good, always a salad bar and meals ranged from fresh pasta with a choice of two sauces, bbq'd chicken, lamb, steamed fish, fresh vegetables, chips, rice, toasted sandwiches and calamari. The evening meal however, was a bit disappointing. Whilst all fresh, there wasn't much choice and it all seemed quite samey. Although we were AI we did eat out in the evening 3 of the 8 nights. Men were requested to wear long trousers in the restaurant in the evening and in 40 degrees heat, it seemed a little unfair. I would rate the food in the hotel 7/10 and the evening meal being the only bad experience. The staff were lovely. Always friendly and ready to greet you with a smile. The 3 pools were quite small. Had the hotel been at full capacity then I'm sure it would've been extremely crowded. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the pool. We were told that they threw in the chlorine tablets in the morning which alarmed us as these are quite dangerous, especially with the children swimming near them. You could see algae at the edge of the pool and whilst we were there we didn't see anyone clean the pools which you normally do on holiday. We went to the beach one afternoon which was a 5 - 10 minute walk from the hotel (depending on how quickly you walked). It wasn't really buggy/pushchair friendly because there were steep steps going down to the beach. The beach itself was quite dirty with cigarette butts and rubbish almost everywhere on the sand. We only stayed an hour and we didn't go back. The walk uphill back to the hotel was hard, especially with two small children and their buckets and spades etc. The hotel had recently employed a new animator who had improved the entertainment both during the day and at night. I would say in about a months time she will have completely changed it all and it will be so much better. She was very enthusiastic and listened to everyone's comments about what they liked/didn't like. They had on one of the evenings a casino night which was amazing and they taught you how to play. We had such a great evening. Whilst we rate this hotel 8/10 we rated the holiday 10/10. We had a wonderful holiday, met some great people and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We decided to go on an All-inclusive holiday, for the first time ever. We booked through Teletext Holidays and managed to get a week Light All-Inclusive for both of us for just under £800, which was great. Light All-inclusive meant only local beers and wines were included, so on checking into the hotel we upgraded for a fee of £5 (cyprus) each per day, adding another £70 onto our holiday costs. We could now have cocktails and long drinks too, which is more my thing. The hotel was lovely, and the pool was great. The food was ok, but a bit repetitive, the food offered on the menu to paying guests looked more appealing. Most of the staff were friendly, however weren't from Cyprus so you didn't get an authentic feel for the place. The man who seemed in charge at the bar however, was very impolite and rude towards us and other guests. The impression you got was because you were All-inclusive, you would have to wait longer to be served, whilst paying guests were a priority for service. Also not included with your All-inclusive was a mini bar in your room, for which you had to pay £2.50 a day and also the safe, which was also another £2.50 per day and it stated Tea/Coffee facilities in your room, however you only got one sachet of coffee each and one teabag each on arrival and you had to pay £2.00 per day to have it re-stocked daily. The tea, coffee and mini-bar should have been free, as you could just go downstairs to the bar and get it for free. We didn't pay for any of these extras on principle. On the whole the hotel was lovely, clean and what I would rate as 4 star. I would return, however I would definitely go Self Catering and experience the true Cyprus.
