First impression at reception was very nice, then when we went to our room or should i say, very basic box., dissapointed was not the word. The room was not big enough for two, never mind all the ants that lived there, so sorry they had to go!
Air conditioning was £2.50 a day extra and also you had to hire a kettle if required for a further £1.00 daily. (tea, coffee etc not included) So lots of hidden extra costs.
No jacuzzie or gym as advertised.
During our visit, there was a problem with one of the roofs flue's, and it was chucking oily soot into the pool and all over the bathing area, so you got covered in it !!! took nearly a week to sort out.
Food is terrible, no entertainment and some bad staff. This hotel needs bringing into the 20th century, and money spending on it.
The only plus point was Room Service, clean sheets and towels every day.
The only thing that we enjoyed about the The Kings Hotel, was the other holiday makers staying there at the same time, a great crowd.

“Group Bookings Beware”

King's Hotel

6 Aug 2007

Please beware if you are booking via firstdirect while the website says the hotel has air-conditioning and we assumed this was in the package you actually have to pay £2.50 Cyprus per day for the airconditioning to work. The room we got also had rat droppings in the cupboards even though a cleaner came through daily.

WE stayed at the Kings for 4 days back in Feb 2004,It's a very quiet little hotel but close to everything you need. The food was absolutely terrible and luckily we found a very nice chinese close by ..The apartment was spotless if a little small.
Staff seemed to be ok as we only saw 1 person the whole time we were there.

The Kings hotel is in a good location in the brit area of Paphos, its within walking distance of The Tomb Of The Kings and local eating places and bars.
The hotel itself is quite dated and in need of a bit of a spruce up, the rooms are the same but the place is spotlesssly clean. The room rates are very good so its hard to be to negative about the place.
However I do believe that the service at the bar good be improved, the bar staff are predomenately British with an attitude and seem to ressent having to do any work.
Overall the Kings is good value for the money and in a central area, but personaly I would pay a little extra next time for a little more quality.

“Friendly and well located hotel”

Review: Trip Advisor Member, Wokingham, Berkshire

A clean, comfortable and friendly hotel. All standard facilities provided for and in a good location for the beach, town, harbour and Tombs of the Kings.

Buffet breakfast and choice of delicious home cooked three course evening meal served in a comfortable, homely environment. Small lounge with television and bar and outdoor swimming pool.

Helpful and friendly staff and night porter service, who would ensure there was breakfast should this be needed for an early morning start to leave for the airport.

As hotel is on a busy main road on a junction, traffic noise was a disturbance but otherwise an economical holiday.
