We stayed at the Ledra Beach from 25/06/08-09/07/08 and before we went the negative reviews had us worried BUT don't be worried, this hotel is superb. From the moment you arrive at reception every member of staff make you feel welcome and wanted. The food is excellent and the choice is unbeatable from traditional Cypriat Dishes every day to mixed and plain salads, cooked vegetarian options and roast meats & fish (if you look around you can find something even if you're a fussy eater).

We were sitting having a pre dinner drink when the manager came over to say hello. He told us that they try to put 100 different items on the menu every day!

The Animation Kids work their socks off all day in 36 degree plus temperatures, but sometimes could get a bit loud when you're about to doze off in the sun. The nightime entertainment is average but some people really enjoyed it. The good thing about his hotel is that the evening entertainment is in an outdoor theatre so if you want to sit outside you don't have to be involved.

There are some negatives, mainly that the sunbeds (of which there are hundreds) get claimed very early, but often nobody uses them till the afternoon which I think is just selfish.

Yes some of the rooms are a bit tired but spotless and comfortable.

Perhaps we should start reviewing the clients instead of the hotel!!!

We have been to this hotel twice now and i cannot fault it at all! I really cannot understand why some people say the food isn't great because it is lovely and they cater for everybody. All the staff are brilliant and the people that made both holidays for us were the animation team. They are fantastic and made our holiday so good that we didn't want to come home! The entertainment by them is brilliant, i could not fault it at all. I just cannot wait to go back to ledra beach again next year! Loved it a lot =]

“A really nice hotel”

Iberostar Ledra Beach

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Ledra Beach hotel and loved it there. We stayed on an all inclusive basis.

On arrival at the hotel, while we were checking in at the reception desk after a long hot journey all the way from England, a member of staff bought us over a lovely glass of cold orange juice each which I thought was a really nice, thoughtful touch.

Our room was very clean and well maintained. My only negative comment would be that the bathroom had seen better days. Although it was all in working order and very clean, it was a bit run down and not really the standard you would expect of a 4 star hotel.

The food in the restaurant was lovely and varied every night. There was even champagne available with breakfast in the mornings. The Gala Evening was lovely. You can book it once during your stay. Its a four course set meal, al fresco dining with waitress service. The dinner was lovely and we felt thoroughly spoilt for the evening.

We had our 19 month old daughter with us and found the hotel and its staff to be very child friendly.

We all had a fantastic holiday and found the Ledra to be a really great hotel in a good location.

We stayed at the Ledra in early June 2008 and got married there. The staff were superb throughout and couldn't do enough for us. The food was great and during our 7 night stay we never saw the same menu twice in the main restaurant. The poolside snack bar was great and was ideal for feeding the kids without them needing our constant supervision. The entertainment staff were fantastic - not too pushy but they got you wanting to join in and by the end of out trip they felt like personal friends. The hotel was clean throughout and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. The bar and restaurant staff were great - always on hand to serve you and smiling at all times. The arrangements for our wedding were handled brilliantly and even the other hotel guests were there to clap us into the bar area.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants but with the quality of food and drink at the Ledra you won't need to go elsewhere. If I had to make any criticsm I would say that the rooms could do with a lick of paint and a bit of updating but all we did was shower and sleep in them and they were perfectly adequate for that purpose.
All in all I would recommend this to anyone except groups of rowdy young people - no yobs here!!

“loved it would go back”

what a lovely clean and friendly hotel, the rooms are spotless but are a littled dated and could do with modernisation however all the public rooms are new and renovated, the entertainment area is a little small and you will be sitting on benches with no table to watch it, there is an outside pool bar and also ann in side more up market bar with waiter service which if they are busy can take some time. The food is just fantastic and you will be spoilt for choice there is always a carved meat as well as say chicken curry or meat curry, fish, vegetarian, chips, potatoes vegetables and always show cooking things like spirng rolls, duck panckaces, prawn crackers, but there was always run of the mill food even when the show cooking was on, the deserts well there was always a choice of ten cakes, fruit, ice cream, you could also have cheese and crackers, edam stilton soft cheese. tea and coffee, beer, wine, soft drinks, water, juice, bread, soup and much more. The service around the hotel is excellent and you can have pool towells for a deposit of ten euros refundable the safe is three euros per day, the minibar is filled daily and has coke, sprite, fanta and water two of everything in the fridge. The beach is nice but directly in front of the hotel is very rocky and difficult to get in and out of but to the left and right of the hotel are fewer rocks and easier to get in and out of, the sunbed situatuion is as usual and reserving does go on but we did not have any problems with getting a bed and the beds and umbrellas on the beach are free, there is loads of shade available, the thomsons rep was excellent for the welcome meeting (leanne) and did not go on to much, there is a lovely waiter at the pool and beach bar called alex from bulgaria and he really can't do enough for you thats about it really i would def recomend this hotel and we would most def be going back there
