We were a little worried before travelling having read past reviews but thankfully we had a very good experience.
We landed in Paphos on a Wednesday, got from the airport to the resort by resorthopper coach (took about an hour with various dropping offs along the way). The location feels a little way out of the town, especially as there is nothing on the doorstep to do if you want to venture out of the hotel complex. Having said that there is a tennis court/with basketball hoop (racquets available to hire e4.20 per hour),huge outdoor pool which although isn't heated, only takes the initial shock of getting in to get over the temperature. A separate volley pool and childrens pool as well as a lovely indoor heated pool which came in very handy when the outdoor one became very busy, NOTE children must be supervised, no lifeguards in attendance at any of them.
Table tennis on grounds, loads of loungers/parasols/seats. We even found a small games area with air hockey and pool table but none were working. The main lobby had comfy seats and the footy always seemed to be playing on the large TV.
Entertainment every evening at 9.15pm, karaoke, quizzes, fire eating- basically something different every night and the chap that is in charge of it is around during the day for the kids club and other activites including archery. Always friendly and very chipper.
Hotel staff are all fantastic. All English speaking too and eager to help.
Car hire available from a lovely lady called Debbie (ex pat) just outside the hotel. We hired a small 4 door for approx e25 per day inclusive of fully comp and extra cover for tyres etc(we were warned roads not great and they were right),if we'd known we would have gone for a 4x4/jeep though as some places only accessible by these(akamas area and some sites including adonis waterfalls etc). It took 2 hours from hotel to Nicosia, an hour to Lanarka,40 mins to Limassol. we didn't try for Agia Napa as kids were fed up with car travel but were told it would take approx 3 hours. Troodos mountains easy by car as good roads, well worth the trip too. Heat of 30 celcius on coast, Troodos Square had had 2meters of snow cleared! Took us by surprise but this was one of our highlights.
Local bus a 5 min walk away, good service running every 10mins or so, e2.00 each for an all day ticket from age 12 upwards, under that age free. Bus 615 to Harbour took 10 mins, transfers available for onward places from there. Same bus in other direction to Coral Bay- personally would only take the bus to see it, very small sandy beach, couldn't fill much time there.
We were all inclusive which included buffet breakfast (cold salad/meat/cheeses, hot selection, toast, fruit, croissants, cereals, cakes etc), all well stocked and easy to navigate.
Lunch- buffet again, salad bar, hot selection(usually a fish option/vegetarian and meat choices), fruit and desserts, bread, rolls etc.
Dinner- buffet. Theme changed daily but usually a salad bar, meat options, a vegetarian and fish choice too.
We travelled with x2 fairly non fussy eaters who always seemed to find something they enjoyed- eldest teen had 8 courses at each meal more often than not!
Snacks if you had the room included pizza/cheeseburger/cold or hot sandwiches....be warned huge portions though! Saw some parents letting kids have this as dinner as more of a child friendly choice for fussy eaters- they could russell up fish fingers etc.
Drinks- spirits, beer(local KEO/carlsberg/Stella)on tap as no bottled beverages included, lots of fantastic cocktails, hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate and the usual soft drinks. Glasses of wine too.
Ice cream went down well too- tasted like frozen yazoo.
They declined to provide any food to be eaten off the premises ie Lunchbox/picnic (hygiene reasons) but a good Lidl supermarket just a few bus stops towards the Harbour was a very cheap place to get some bits for days out.
Rooms were in blocks, max 2 floors, like chalets. We had a bedroom with twin beds, good size with plenty of wardrobe room. Bathroom with bath(no plug)and power shower from mixer taps, basic shower gel/shampoo provided. Towels too- changed x3/week.
Living area with kitchenette including all you'd need apart from washing up liquid. They had set up x2 zed beds for the kids but our teen found it uncomfortable and chose to sleep on the sofa. Small balcony with seating and clothes horse. Fantastic views!
TV in room (BBC world only english language channel) but we weren't in to watch it. A/C too. Both these had remotes which the hotel usually ask for a e20 deposit for on arrival.
Room service stated x5/week but we had our beds done every day with fresh sheets at least x3 during our 10 night stay.
We did find a small amount of ants one morning in the bedroom which seemed to be coming quite literally out of the woodwork(architrave),but we let reception know who in turn told housekeeping and they apparently saw to it(haven't got a clue what they did though).
On site there is a small laundry area with x2 good sized washers at e3.00 per load, and a dryer at e2.00 per load, both approx 30 minute cycles, and a well stocked albeit rather expensive shop for basics like coffee/water to souvenirs and swimming accessories.
Sea view rooms ensure you wake to a beautiful view every morning.
Pool view are right next to the p...
