We stayed in this hotel for a Saturday night in a Deluxe Harbour View Room.

The hotel is quite new and the common areas and rooms are of a high standard - clean and comfortable. The location is convenient, with a nice view of the harbour and the dazzling array of yachts.

However, the service at this hotel was lacking. This is the first hotel I've ever stayed at that was unable to run a breakfast buffet. They appeared to have run out of food an hour before breakfast finished and upon arriving just ignored us (perhaps they hoped we would go away?). Other guests were walking out and their complaints met by shrugs from the staff. We were astonished that we couldn't actually get any breakfast and had to leave the hotel in search of food.

The receptionist apologised and said many guests had complained, but no offer of recompense was made.

I assume this hotel doesn't do this too often or surely their business would dry up? ...or starve to death

I certainly won't be staying there again and would think twice before staying in any other properties in this chain (Stein hotels).

We stayed at the Port Palace for 5 nights and it was truly amazing. The hotel location is great and you can get to most places on foot. The reception desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the 6th floor is overly expensive for drinks (everywhere is in Monaco) but it also had little atmosphere we never ate at the hotel so can't comment on the food but menu looked good.

There are many great bars and restaurants in Monte Carlo (which is one of the biggest highlights here) some that i would recommend are:
Blue Gin which is in the Monte Carlo Beach Resort there is a DJ there every friday and saturday night its a lively place but not over the top.

Stars n Bars is quite good (very similar to Hard Rock Cafe/TGI Fridays if you have kids they would probably really enjoy the food here) They also have a restaurant next door called Fusion where the food and cocktails are really good and well worth a visit. We also went to a restaurant called Maya Bay which was the most expensive restaurant we visited at around 150 Euros for a 2 course meal with 2 drinks! it was worth it though!

I would certainly visit Monaco again and stay at the Port Palace, the
location is great, staff are excellent, and the rooms are perfect overlooking the harbour.

I recently traveled with my daughter for 5 days to Monaco and France staying at the Port Palace Hotel. Every room is oversized, and ours overlooked the harbor with luxury yachts. The front desk was incredibly friendly, helpful and encouraging on all of our daytrips, printing out directions and giving personal advice as to the sights best to see and not see. They made this trip very pleasureable. Valet parking at the hotel was very worthwhile as driving is the best way to get around for sure. The valet was so helpful, he offered to fill up my rental car with gas the night before I left so that I did not have to fill it up on the way to the airport. The hotel is in a great location, right on the harbor. The only negative is the restaurant which is an upscale restaurant on the top floor. The menu is ridiculously expensive, and there are many other restaurants nearby. Monaco prices are high, however everywhere. I would definitely stay in this hotel if you are going to Monaco or to use as a base as we did to see Provence, Nice etc.

My husband and I stayed at the Port Palace for Valentines Day. The hotel is very comfortable, the view of the port amazing, specially from the restaurant which is on the 6th floor. Staff is very friendly, the rooms are top notch, the bathrooms with jacuzzi add to the special romance....we had the package which included candlelight dinner, very tasty except desert : marsh mellow with pineapple.......weird !!! Otherwise great. A MUST is the Spa; the massage is wonderfully relaxing

“Loved it!! The staff are excellent”

This hotel was great. Clean with great rooms and facilities the view was as we expected, across the Harbour. The staff were fantastic to the point that one of them were leaving and we are meeting up with him in Paris this year.

On another note however this hotel is quite expensive. A buffet breakfast is available (at a cost) and hot breakfasts are available too. But as I say expensive. We stayed for 7 nights (through new year) and they had a great new year gala dinner.

We felt a little let down my the area though. Not much to do really. The Casino's were quite dull - I was expecting a bit of Vegas style entertainment but basically it was sit and bet - that was it. Be prepared to walk and discover the area.

I would not recommend taking children. No entertainment for them there.
