Our family of two adults and three children stayed here over Christmas. We were supposed to stay for 5 nights, but loved it so much that we stayed 1 extra night!
We had a double and a triple room. Both rooms looked out to a snowy perfect picture. Rooms were generous in size and simply, but nicely, furnished. The extra bed in the triple room was a sofa seat around the corner from the other beds, so gave our daughter a degree of privacy that she loved. That room also had doors that opened out to a lovely little area.
On arrival, there were plates of fruit, pastries and nuts in our rooms. I don't know if this was a Christmas special or happens all the time.
Breakfast was great, with hot chocolates, good coffee and the usual selection of meats, cheeses, eggs and pastries. Lovely bread selection!
Dinners were also something to look forward to.
A small bar also served amazing apple strudel (the best of our Austria trip!), and great noodles with cheese. Good wines by the glass too.
The hotel looks down over Salzburg. We were perched high in thick, dry snow, looking down on the city under a blanket of fog. When the city emerged, it was glorious. The hotel grounds are extensive and looked great under half a meter of snow. We saw photos of it in Summer and it also looked fabulous.
We had a car to get to Salzburg and nearby skiing areas. On a couple of occasions, we also used taxis - no problems.
This is a family-owned hotel and it shows. Friendly, and helpful staff.
It was a joy to stay here.
