We stayed at this Salzburg hotel in December 2007. From Tripadvisor and the website, it looked like a modern, attractive hotel - and it is.

There were only 2 drawbacks:
- It is a little out of town but this was overcome by the efficient public transport almost to the door;
- the whole hotel smells from the large number of smokers who use it. From entry into the lobby right through the hotel there is smoke everywhere. It got in our clothes, hair, everywhere.

We had been warned to beware the smokers in Prague but they were not nearly as obvious or concentrated as they were in this hotel. No other hotel in Austria at which we stayed had this level of concentration of smoke or smell.

We chose this hotel, after reading other Trip Advisor reviews, for our 10th Anniversary celebration. We were not disappointed. We chose a superior room which was a good choice - it was spotlessly clean, we had dressing gowns, slippers and there were plenty of toiletries.
There was a wide choice of hot & cold food at breakfast although occassionally items were not replenished. There are two restaurants though on our visit only one appeared to be open.
The staff were obliging and attentive at all times.
Though the hotel is away ftrom the centre, approxiamately 15/20 minutes walking, it is easily accessed by trolley bus (most days every 10 minutes) - A tip here: if you are only interested in getting around buy a day or weekly ticket which you buy from the tobacconists{TABAK). These are much cheaper than the Salzburg card - although there is no free access to museums/attractions etc.
We would definately stayat this hotel again.

STAFF - friendly, helpful and spoke perfect English.
CATERING & AMENITIES - all above par. Health spa was wonderful and well equipped. Rooms were immaculate and housekeeping throughout the hotel was faultless.
LOCALITY - away from the city centre and public or private transportation is required to get around.
FACILITIES - business facilities were good - inexpensive internet access, meeting rooms were well-equipped.
OVERALL - an excellent hotel and a good base from which to explore the wondereful city of Salzburg.

A beautiful hotel and a very nice restaurant and an extra plus for the good breakfast.
