My husband and I stayed here for four nights while I attended a conference. I admit up front that my very positive experience may be colored by getting a great rate on the room through the hotel website, but for a non-luxury hotel, this was an excellent experience. Very comfortable beds, best pillows I've found in an Austrian hotel, great shower, spotless room. Staff are kind and courteous, and gave us a room on the "Imlauer" side of the hotel, without our asking (I gather this is routine practice), so we got a better room than we expected.

The hotel is "wheelable," i.e., about three easy blocks from the train station, and a pleasant fifteen-minute walk from the downtown. Even better, it's only a five-minute walk from the Panorama Tours central station, from which you can book a variety of tours (and there's a delicious sausage stand, here, too). It's the most handicapped-accessible hotel I stayed at in Austria, and elevators and bathrooms were generously sized, easy to navigate. The bathroom had a heated towel rack that I wished I could take home with me. (One minor downside to the bathroom was the flourescent lightbulb which "strobed," flashing three times a bit painfully every time I turned it on.) The breakfast was surprisingly generous and good, with heaps of hot and cold food, and pots of hot coffee on every table. Try the homemade white bread with the salt on top, mmm. I'm really pleased with my entire stay.

Stayed for 4 night in Jan,staff on the front desk were fantastic,could not do enough for you.Rooms were fine,very clean,probably a little too warm,do not forget to ask for your free tea and coffee making facilities from the front desk.
Breakfast was fine,except for the scrambled eggs,they were always hard and the water for the tea was never hot enough.
Location was 15 mins walk from old town,or a very resonable 5-6 euros in a cab.
All in all, fantastic value for money.

We stayed at this hotel during a 3 day stay in Salzburg. The staff was friendly and helpful, the parking and breakfast were included each day. The only warning I have is that the windows are NOT soundproof, as the hotel advertises. We booked our Sound of Music tour through the front desk - the tour was fantastic! All in all, a great stay.

We stayed here two nights as part of a tour group. It is a converted brewery, so the layout is a little strange. The hotel was clean, staff friendly and courteous. Rooms were a little small, but that is Europe. Breakfast was excellent, with hot and cold choices. It was a little walk to the old part of town, but not too bad. Shopping close. No hesitation on recommending.
