Stayed in the Josef Brunauer Zentrum from Oct. 21-23, 2007. I was pleasently surprised at the hotel quality when I arrived. It was larger than I was expecting. Got booked into room #114. My surprises continued as I stepped into my room. Instead of one room, it is divided into a series of rooms. The toilet and showers are in their own rooms and the bedroom is in a separate room from the tv room. The beds are comfortable and the shower has good water pressure but the shower cube could have been larger in my opinion, as could the toilet room where the door opened inwards towards the toilet.
The only complaint I have about the room is the soundproofing isn't the best as I was able to hear a baby crying in the room nextdoor very clearly for most of one night. Earplugs keep noises out during sleep though.
The breakfast spread is expansive and entirely organic.
The front desk I tried to buy a Salzburg Card for touring the town but all I would get after repeated attempts were city maps.
The hotel has vending machines on each floor but they are very expensive (2euros for a 0.3L soda) and it's better to buy food and drinks at the supermarket near the train station.
The location is not great but the hotel is good for the price and near the train station, making it a good place to stay if arriving by train
