This is a gorgeous hotel on the outskirts of Salzburg. A car would be handy to get to it (we hired a car at the airport) although there is a bus that runs to the village and from there it is probably a 5-7 minute walk.

This hotel is a true gem, nestled at the top of a road with magnificent views over the surrounding mountains and also a great view of Salzburg and the old town, including the fortress.

The bedrooms are absolutely huge - my sister and her two girls shared a triple room (double bed and one day bed) which had two seprate bathrooms (one with toilet/basin and the other with shower and corner bath and another toilet and two basins!)

My mum and I both booked single rooms but they were far superior to anything we have stayed in, both with ensuite facilities, newly refurbished.

The rooms are unique, each decorated in a different style, the decor is scrumptious!

The breaksfast was breathtaking - everything from fresh juice to smoked salmon and plenty of it! Although the hotel does not have a restaurant, snacks are served throughout the day - the tomato and basil soup and pasta with tomato sauce were favourites of ours.

The staff were very friendly and we loved the resident ginger cat!

If you have a car or don't mind a bus ride, book this hotel now!

The staff was kind, the room was comfortable, the rates were reasonable, and the breakfast buffet demanded a second-trip.

The hotel is tucked up several twists of roadway and may be challenging to find. Our rental came equipped with a navigation system - a highly recommended resource for any first-time visitor!

Salzburg is lovely and memorable, but for all the touring in our three day visit, there was no place we would rather have been than watching the view from our deck at the Garni Villa Pace.
