We stayed for 1 night at Villa Ceconi, in a double room. We were surprised at its distance from the city centre of Salzburg, we got the choice of catching a bus or a taxi, as a local informed us it was a 40 minute walk from the train station. We ended up catching a taxi, as it was late, and it cost almost 10 Euro.

We had arranged a late check-in with reception, and she had advised she would leave our room card in the safe, but it wasn't there. However, she did drive over from their offshoot hotel and hand it to us.

The room was comfortable, although small. It was clean. There was a vending machine in the corridor outside, which was good because there were no eating places to be seen up or down the street outside.

Breakfast was 5 mins down the road at Hotel Zur Post, and it was lovely. The staff there were helpful with directions to the salt mines when we checked out.

This hotel is very new and spotlessly clean. As previously mentioned no breakfast on site but short walk. There is a 20 minute walk into town. The en suite bathroom walls are glass and provide more of a partition than a barrier against embarrassing noises etc!!!!!! avoid if in a very new relationship and want to maintain your dignity! but altogether clean, quiet and comfortable.

just 5 mins from airport & 25 mins walk to old town.nice clean apartment.no tea/coffee.shower only.room turned down everyday.not that old i think.breakfast available at main hotel zur post 200m down road.excellent bar with great selection of local food 50m down rd.think it was called michdurcech,something like that.
