I stayed here on business. Overall satisfactory in terms of the room. They fell down on the front-of-house. We were trying to arrange an early check-in for a US colleague who was coming later and found the check-in staff unhelpful and the duty manager did nothing to restore confidence. This was a bad first impression of the hotel. We also had problems checking-out. We left our luggage at reception and when we came back to collect it later in the day it took the staff quite a while to find it (they first offered us somebody else's bag!). However, the Europa is rescued firstly by its location right in the heart of Vienna and secondly by its bar and its lovely bar man (originally from India) which is far superior to many hotel bars I have been in.

Business service (e.g., internet access)This hotel is perfectly located - you walk out the door and you are on the main street in Vienna - a 5 minute walk to the Opera House and maybe 10 to St Stephens Cathedral.
The breakfast is excellent - a good selection and we had no issues with crowding but we were there in February.
The staff were all very pleasant and we didn't have any bad experiences with any of them...they were friendly, helpful and polite.
The rooms are well sized, kept beautifully clean and although ours faced into the courtyard we had no issues with noise. Remember the noise will be if you have a room overlooking the street which means you're overlooking a busy pedestrian area in a capital city.
We were delighted with this hotel and I would definitely recommend it.
Stayed here for two nights in July. Arrived around 11am and were checked in immediately. Room was very large (at least in comparison to what I've experienced in several other European cities). Very clean bedroom and bathroom, comfortable beds and bedding. Didn't have breakfast, so can't opine on that. Location is excellent, close to everything. Our room unfortunately faced inward and thus had a view of other rooms but this is an admittedly a small complaint. There's no AC, so if the heat bothers you, that could be a problem (though I thought it was beyond bearable). The front desk is more than willing to provide fans (unfortunately, as we failed to close the second of the odd two doors scheme, the porter opened the first door to knock and walked in at a rather inopportune moment. He meant well however and it was partially our fault as well).
Overall, I loved it. Vienna's a wonderful city and I certainly hope to return soon, and would definately stay here again.

We loved this hotel. Our room was beautiful, the staff were very helpful, and the location cannot be faulted. Good breakfast, if a bit busy (not really their fault). The main problem was the noise from the street. Our room looked out onto the street at the back of the Sacher hotel and from 5am the deliveries started. Brewers' lorries, bin-men, laundry lorries etc. I think the noise must be amplified by the two buildings, because it was deafening. But it meant we were up, dressed and out the door in good time to see the sights, so there is a bright side!
