Stayed there 2 weeks ago when it was raining the whole week.

The location of the hotel is excellent, think is about 200metres from the train station and few stops to the centre (Stephensdom).

Breakfast is very good and the service staff is very attentive.

Have tried to ask the front desk for a room facing a courtyard upon arrival but was conveniently ignored. :-( The room have no aircon so have to leave window a little open even the weather is cold. Problem is you will hear the traffic noise once the window is opened. I would not recommend this hotel if you going to visit Vienna in Summer.

There are 2 pay per use Internet Access stations at the lobby but looks like they are permanently under repair with the service sticker. I have no choice but to purchase the 8 euros per hour one time access from the hotel which is a rip off.

I would recommend this hotel for Vienna mainly because of the location.

I had a great time at this hotel. Staff made special arrangements for a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday and a bottle of champagne (both ordered by friends from overseas to surprise me). The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and catered to tastes from all over the world! Staff was extremely nice and helpful! The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, close to everything!

I see that some people were not satisfied with the size of the rooms! Well, don't forget, it is in Europe. You shouldn't expect the size of the American hotel rooms in Europe! We also couldn't find the AC, something the hotel should certainly reconsider for hot summer nights, even as a green hotel.

DO NOT USE THE PHONES IN THE ROOM! The company that operates them charged us $40 for a call that didn't even go through!

Overall, I greatly recommend this hotel!

A few months before coming to Vienna I spent a couple of nights in another of the hotels of the Intercity chain in Hamburg, Germany. I can confirm that the quality of this franchise is consistent (at least in my sample of two hotels). Both hotels were in modern buildings in a central location near the railway station, with plenty of public transport around. Nice rooms in both of them too, and particularly the bathroom (which was 99% identical) with sparkling-white tiles and a shower I would not mind having at home. Breakfast was also over the average in a 3-star hotel in German-speaking Europe (but it was not included in the price). In short, nothing to complain about and many positive details (as the free travelcard for public transport).
I stayed on winter and room temperature was not a problem, but I noticed the absence of a/c and I guess that can be a drawback for summer travellers as one of the previous reviewers has pointed out.

The Intercity Hotel in Vienna is very nice. It is a very modern hotel. Once you arrive they immediately give you a very helpful map of the city and life-saving transportation card that gives you access to any means of public transportation. The underground in Vienna is easy to use and drops you off anywhere you want to go. The room itself is a fair size. My room in particular was very nice because it had a balcony that let air through. That was great because there is no air conditioning. The daily breakfast was good and during lunch and dinner you have the option of eating outside.
This hotel is well situated. It is directly on a street where there is tons of shopping and countless sidewalk cafe's and gelato shops.Yummy!
The Intercity is comfortable and worth your stay.
