This was our second visit to the Hotel Austria and it will certainly not be our last.

Hotel Austria is a very attractive older house, tucked away in a cul-de-sac in a very beautiful part of Vienna. It is only a 5 minute walk to the city centre and several minutes' walk to the tram stop.

We stayed in one of the apartments which was extremely comfortable and pleasing in its decor (as is all the hotel, being tastefully decorated with dark wood, lighter walls and oriental carpets on most of the floors)

Without doubt this is one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at in all our years of travelling. I would challenge anyone to find a speck of dust anywhere. The high ceilings were spotless, the beautiful lamp fittings gleaming and the hotel as a whole has a warm and cosy ambience.

Our apartment consisted of a large bedroom with twin beds, a very large wardrobe, a mini-bar and wide screen television. Adjoining this was the sitting room which comprised of a very comfortable sofa bed, a small table with tea and coffee making facilities, another mini-bar and a small television. There is also free wi-fi connection in the room which was extremely easy to use.

The bathroom was small but adequate (shower/hairdryer), tastefully decorated and again, spotlessly clean.

The staff are very polite, friendly and always willing to help in any way they can.

The breakfast is good, with a huge selection of bread, pastries, cheese, cold meat, cereals, preserves, boiled eggs and fresh fruit. The breakfast room is extremely pretty and again, very clean.

We felt at home in the Hotel Austria and the staff are always happy to help you find your way around, or book concert/opera tickets.

The only word of warning I would provide is that due to the fact that our apartment was at the front of the hotel, we did find the cul-de-sac a little noisy on occasion due to the cobbles. Also, deliveries are made early in the morning. Although this did not spoil our stay, I believe people should be aware of this.

Overall, a beautiful, clean, excellent hotel in an extremely good location.

Less than a five minute walk (I timed it) from the airport bus stop at Schwedenplatz and on the doorstep of all that Vienna has to offer, the hotel is in a great location.
On arrving I was a little concerned as the entrance is down an (albeit clean) alleyway, but there were no problems either with noise or dodgy people hanging around. The reception team were very welcoming and professional. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was a lovely fresh spread (their website pics are true!). No other meals are available here, but staff can offer good suggestions and there is a Spar Gourmet round the corner selling lovely fresh salads, fruit salads and other groceries should you fancy a picnic. It's quite a good sized supermarket by city centre standards. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants only two minutes walk (if that) from the hotel.
I've chalked a point off as, unlike at the Atlantis in Vienna, the staff did not offer to contact the airport when I mentioned BA lost my luggage, but the service was still superb.

Great hotel. Central location. Nicely appointed rooms. Very helpful staff. Good recommendations for dinner, restaurants that were not touristy. Would stay again.

“Great Location, Wonderful Staff”

Hotel Austria

After having browsed the net - and especially Trip Advisor - my husband, mother and myself selected the Hotel Austria mainly for its location. While my husband was worried that this is a 3 star hotel and might not be up to the standard we expect, he was definitely most pleasantly surprised. First of all, the hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Within minutes you are able to reach - on foot - most of the major attractions and hot spots. If you are too tired to walk, the hotel again is very close to the underground system, the metro and the bus stations. The staff is extremely friendly and pleasant and the hotel is spotless. Our rooms were spacious and very nicely and comfortably decorated. Right across from the hotel, you have a main supermarket outlet which is also very handy. We definitely recommend the hotel and will be going back on our future trips.
