This is a great hotel, right in the heart of central Vienna. We have spent the past three New Years here and we have always been very happy with our stay. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are more than adequate without being luxurious. Bathrooms are clean, modern and bright, and the beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfasts are more than adequate.

One thing which I would caution though is the noise in the early hours. If your room looks onto the alley / street, the racket is pretty bad – with deliveries of (I don't know – what? milk? bread? laundry?) in the wee small hours making for a rude awakening. So, the moral of the story is: ask for an inside room.

If you don’t like smoking in public and coming back home stinking of other people’s fag smoke then avoid Vienna. NEVER have we been anywhere where so many people smoke so much. So make sure you ask for a room on one of the two non-smoking floors.

Other than this, absolutely no problems recommending this fantastic hotel.

This hotel was good value for money in a capital city. The location was fairly central for visiting tourist locations and handy for the metro. We found the room to be quiet and adequate. The hotel was clean and we had no problems with the hotel reception, that had mentioned in some reviews on this hotel.

The only disappointing feature was that the breakfasts were uninspiring!

The greatest thing about this hotel was the location. A quiet side street off of the Fleichmarkt, one block from the metro stop and a few more to St. Stephen's cathedral.
The service was efficient and friendly-ish.
The room was a good size but the furniture could use some updating.
Breakfast was good too accept for a discruntled woman who enjoyed slamming dished on to her collection tray...

“Quiet, On the Edge of the Historic District”

In Vienna we chose not to stay near or next to the train station but instead opted for a historic location at a decent price in Vienna. We made the right choice! The hotel was easy to reach to/from the train station via subway (some additional directions are included below and a map is attached). The room price included a solid breakfast buffet and access to a safe deposit box. We requested an upper floor room which had plenty of space and was quiet.

The hotel is on the border of the historic district but perfectly situated for walks to shops, cafes, restaurants or transport (the underground and trolley line is about 3 blocks away; buses are also included with the Vienna Card). The shopping district takes you right to historic palaces, museums and cathedrals. St. Stephens is about 3 blocks away.

Exit the U1 at Schwedenplatz. Walk to the east along the river to the corner where there are several cafe stands/shops and turn right walking away from the river. Walk up this street until it deadends and turn right and then take the next left, a dead end street. The hotel is located at the end of the street.

I searched a long time for a hotel in Vienna and I picked this one because of location and price. It was excellent. We had two rooms, one for our 2 college age sons. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel atmosphere was charming and characteristic. The breakfast was great and the location was terrific. All of the staff were extremely helpful. Even though the location is off of the main street, the noise was very loud early in the morning with the windows open. An inside room would have been quiet. But we would still go back again. We all really enjoyed it. They had the softest and nicest towels I've ever had in a hotel!
