Really had a great time here - great staff, very helpful! BEST BREAKFAST ever! (I photographed it!) Simply the best.

We spent four days in Vienna and booked our accommodation at Rathaus Wien & Design based on the reviews in Trip Advisor. The hotel staff where wonderful and extremely helpful, the breakfasts where great and kept us going all day. There was a park close by so my husband could go for a run and we found the location to be ideal for getting around. The only thing we felt was missing was an outside area (other than the internal courtyard) which might have got some sun which we would have used for reading our book and drinking wine. We'd definitely stay there again.

Hotel was clean, huge rooms, big bathrooms. Design of our room was kind of strange. Toilet on one side of the room, and sink/shower on the other side.

Daytime staff was very friendly and helpful. Night time staff was hit and miss.

Breakfast was wonderful and worth the money.

Location was good but would probably look for something more around places to eat/shop.

Loved Vienna and hope to return.

As with all smaller hotels there are natural plus and minus points which my family and I discovered over 4 nights. I would describe the hotel as a 4* B&B rather than a full service hotel.

A taxi was waiting at the airport but it had been booked to go to another hotel. The hotel offered large quiet rooms whilst not in the most central position for exploring the centre. Breakfast consisted of a large buffet with variety but was €16 a person, and the breakfast staff didn't know what a poached egg was (I eventually had an omelette). Vienna is so full of places to eat that this seemed a bit overpriced.

I found the beds very hard which hindered my sleep. On the last night having tried sleeping on the quilt and using a bath towel as a sheet I realised another quilt would be good. The male reception fellow looked at me as though I was at fault although a quilt finally arrived.

Vienna has had a hot summer and I found the A/C generally inadequate, but of course this and several of my comments are subjective.

The family enjoyed the stay and for the price I am not complaining. As with all things in life the question is whether to pay more to have a marginal improvement. I would stay again but equally I would pay more to get the full service hotel experience somewhere more central too.
