Since I was a kid in 6th grade at school and saw a photo of a fjord in a geography book, I have wanted to see a fjord with my own eyes and experience a boat ride in the process. This two hour boat ride in the Oslofjorden was somewhat of a disappointment in that there weren't the high mountains on either side, but there were other sights along the way that I wasn't expecting. Our tour guide, who spoke in English, pointed out the king's royal yacht, and told stories about people and animals (Rabbit Island) as we passed public and private islands on our way out and back in. I was surprised to learn that thousands of people who live on the islands are permanent residents there!
