Looking for a excellent mid-ranged place to stay in the heart of Oslo, look no further, this is the place.
Lovely rooms, not overly large, but well proportioned, tastefully decorated and all the right extras. My room didn't have an outside view, however was very light looking over the breakfast courtyard/atrium.
Very friendly staff, speaking excellent English, putting us brits to shame again. Breakfast is an excellent continental affair but with so many extras Waffles, eggs, everything you could want.
My only fault is the lack of free/reasonable Internet access. There is a single free PC in the reception but thats it!
If you are looking for a reasonable Chinese meal, I can recommend Mr Wong's next door, excellent good value food!

Very nice Hotel right in the center of Oslo.
Close to restaurants, shops and underground, tram and bus stops.
Very clean and quiet.
Nice staff and free internet near the reception.
Very nice breakfast two.

This hotel is cheap by Norway standards but well worth considering. It has an excellent location just behind the town hall so is in a good location for the city centre, Akker Bryge area and really close to good bus and train links.

The rooms are adequate and quiet and the hotel also has a decent breakfast. Broadband is available by buying an inexpensive card - one thing to note is you pay for a card for 12 hours, but this means your access lasts for 12 hours from when you first use it - not 12 hours of total use.

If you're going to Norway, definitely get a Skanplus card and stay at Thon hotels. They're friendly and reasonable (for expensive Norway), and with the card, the sixth night is free.

We were especially impressed with the Thon Cecil. For one thing, Oslo can get HOT, and the hotel is one of the few that's air-conditioned. Unfortunately you have no controls in your room, but they'll give you a fan on request to keep the air moving. The rooms facing the central atrium (the breakfast room) can be stuffy, but they're also perfectly quiet, which we found preferable to street noise.

Rooms are small but modern and clean. Bathroom is better than many. Breakfast is good (some hot food) and never crowded. Free coffee in the lobby 24/7, and one free Internet terminal for quick e-mail checks. We stayed here several times, and each time the people at the desk were wonderfully helpful. Also, the Chinese restaurant next door has an "after-work" special that's one of the few affordable meals in Oslo.

Spent two nights there in june.
It has excellent location,right in the heart of everything:Aker brygge,Carl Johan,royal palace and shopping.
The room was clean,bathroom very nice and the breakfast was lovely.Nice staff to.
We slept like babies,very quiet,but we stayed at level 8 and not facing the street. I recomend this hotel.
