We stayed there for 6 nights and booked hotel over the web. Great Hotel that was centrally located. Clean room and comfortable bed. Great kitchette with a nice little refrig. Great breakfast with a lot of variety. Within walking distance of the main shopping street and restaurants and close to the subway. Very friendly staff. Would stay there again if we were to go back to Oslo. Had a great time.

We booked this hotel over the visit oslo website and got a reasonable deal for 40GBP per night per personwith an oslo pass. It was fairly basic little room to swing a cat in either the bedroom or the bathroom as has been noted by other tripadvisors. It was clean and tidy and centrally located to the royal palace and the national theatre.
Staff were mediocre, not very friendly but that was my feeling on the Norwegians during our stay. I used the sauna which was nice and there was a basic gym.
Breakfast was fantastic full of everything. Fine as a base and thankfully it had a little kitchenette to cook and food was extortionate prices and we were on a budget. We travelled with our three month old baby and I must say I was very relieved to find breastfeeding the norm over there. There were no gasps or tutts of disapproval that you would get here.
All in all, a good budget hotel clean, good breakfast but no little luxuries!

This hotel was definitely not worth the 4 stars, it should not have more than 3. We booked a double room, but got a very small room with a large single bed for the 2 of us. And it probably was just a single room since there was only 1 pilow and one set of towels. Of course we complained about that, and we got a 2nd pillow & 2nd set of towels. There was a new carpet, but the bathroom was very old (it was clean though), and had not been renovated for the last 30 years so it seemed. There was only a new crane. And you had to take a shower directly on the tiles, so the entire bathroomfloor was soaking wet (I'd hate to be the roommaid there). The toilet was placed directly along the wall, so if you are over size 12 you have to turn 90 degrees This is something you can expect in a 2 star hotel but not in a 4 star.
The staff was very friendly though.

I stayed in a "Junior Suite" with two other adults for three nights and we were very comfortable. Our suite consisted of a alcove (no doors) with two twin beds and a bedside table in between and wall mounted reading lights. There was a sitting room with comfy loveseat and armchair and a dining table and 4 chairs. There was even room to walk around the comfy rollaway I slept on. The foyer held the kitchenette with a under the counter fridge, microwave, sink, coffeemaker. Great for snacks and holding leftovers, not really big enough to prepare full meals. Bathroom was lovely and spotless. The breakfast was top notch with hot eggs, sausage and waffles plus a full Norwegian spread of breads, meats, cheeses and fish in an elegant dining room.

Reception was unhelpful when I had trouble operating the washing machine, but otherwise efficient.

Location is fabulous, across a narrow lane from the Royal Palace and Park and an easy walking distance to the water front, restaurants, downtown.

In sum, Spacious, great value, super spot!
