having booked to stay at the Eastbourne, found that it was not what we expected. So tried Queens, very helpful staff, viewed the room, nice and clean, spacious but a little dated. My partner described the breakfast room as a bit like work due to the age of our fellow visitors (she is a care worker), unfortunately the waiting staff had little english, but nice breakfast. Not bad for a south coast hotel. If you like victorian/edwardian architecture u will love it. great view of pier from our room.

“Rude Worthless Receptionist”

I went into the queens hotel to ask 2 simple questions, one being whether they hold functions at the hotel, and the other whether i could be giving a brochure or leaflet on the prices of the hotel. I atually did this for an assignment rather then me atually wanting to stay here, but the loverly receptionist didnt know that i was there to judge her customer service. Im not really one to judge, but when i enter the hotel the receptionist was sitting quite far away from the desk, like anyone would, i expected her to get up and talk to me but instead she looked at me blankly and didnt even say hello, i then asked her if she had any brochures and she said 'well no not really, anyway we tend to cater for old people, like that come in coaches' so i thought righttt ok so because im not 100 im not alowed to get you up off your lazy arse and get me a brochure, because im pretty sure you have something to show me tariffs. so eventually with abit of a nudge she got up and handed me a brochure. Hurray you do have one! magic. When i got back to look at the brochure it was completely irelevant to what i had asked for, i guess the brochure i atually wanted was about 5 more steps away and i wouldnt atually expect her to do what shes paid to do. im sure the hotels nice but they should definately loss the lazy arsed receptionist.

“Loved the decor”

Queen's

14 Apr 2008

We stayed at the Queens through a coach holiday with National. The hotel has just recentlybeen refurbished into the style it was built reallygood decor the staff where all very helpfull the rooms where clean plenty of hotwater for showering, the rooms where nice and warm and comfortable, the food was good you had plenty of choice even if you are a vegie you where catered for, the entertainment was on every night allthough it catered for the older person but still entertaining. The only downside was that there was somebody in a wheel chair in the party and the acess from the entrance to the first terrace there was only stairs and no ramp allbeing there wasonly 6 stairs, over all a very good stay and would stay again. “Surprise”

Went to Easbourne to watch Football and decided at the last minute to stay in town over nite, drove along the seafront, saw the Queens Hotel had rooms available ( and they had an onsite car park). From the moment we walked in we were treated with courtesy and helpfulness. The majority of the other guests were over 60. The bar man (a Scot) was excellent, the priced for drinks were very reasonable. Our room ( it was almost the size of a suite) was functionally furnished with tv, hairdrier, trouser press, tea/coffee making ,The only slightly negative thing we found was the attitude of the waiting staff (lacked basic comprehension skills).
Will certainly stay there again & recommend it.
