“No problems”

We stayed in this hotel for one night only. It has no carpark but onstreet parking is possible (just not on the weekend we went as a free airshow meant the resort was packed). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bath had a shower but no shower curtain or screen so it was really only useful for washing your hair. There was also no shelf so there was not much room to put your toiletries. The TV had more than the usual 5 channels and there was free tea and coffee. The hotel is situated in a quiet street behind the Grand Hotel so there are no sea views (our room looked out to a flat roof and the back of other buildings. Breakfast was only available for an hour, which seemed a bit stingy but the food was fine and very filling. I am a veggie so I couldn't have the full English on offer but they let me have extra toast. As we were not there for long we didn't use the nice bar area but I stuck my head into the "lounge" which looked badly in need of some TLC.

So to sum up - no real problems but I think the price of £40.75 per person per night was a little bit steep for what was on offer.

It was a last minute decision to stay the night in Eastbourne. A combination of sun and tennis was too good to miss so I drove, at snail's place, looking for a hotel with car space. Another day would be brilliant but where to stay? I was so fortunate. A rare space became vacant and I backed into it with much relief. Within a few yards, a pleasant looking hotel attracted my attention. I was welcomed by a smiling, softly spoken lady. The hotel was fully booked apart from a double bedroom situated outside the hotel but within easy reach. I was shown the room and initially I was rather nervous as it seemed isolated. I overcame this hesitation as it looked clean and comfortable. A double bed, shower room, t.v., tea and coffee facilities were at my disposal. The breakfast next morning was most enjoyable and I vowed I would book this hotel with its friendly ambience and comfort on my next visit. A warm welcome in this competitive field is so important and it gave me the sense of security I needed as night was about to fall. Thank you!
