We have just returned from an overnight stay at the New Wilmington Hotel in Eastbourne where we held an 80th birthday celebration involving 20 family members. The hotel offered excellent value for money - the rooms were immaculately clean and the food was superb. Sue and her staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was friendly, welcoming and well presented without being overly formal. We would certainly stay here again, given the opportunity.

We stayed in this hotel for one night only. It has no carpark but onstreet parking is possible (just not on the weekend we went as a free airshow meant the resort was packed). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bath had a shower but no shower curtain or screen so it was really only useful for washing your hair. There was also no shelf so there was not much room to put your toiletries. The TV had more than the usual 5 channels and there was free tea and coffee. The hotel is situated in a quiet street behind the Grand Hotel so there are no sea views (our room looked out to a flat roof and the back of other buildings. Breakfast was only available for an hour, which seemed a bit stingy but the food was fine and very filling. I am a veggie so I couldn't have the full English on offer but they let me have extra toast. As we were not there for long we didn't use the nice bar area but I stuck my head into the "lounge" which looked badly in need of some TLC.

So to sum up - no real problems but I think the price of £40.75 per person per night was a little bit steep for what was on offer.

We were recommended to the New Wilmington four years ago.We have since then visited 12 times we truefully cannot say we ahve found any fault. The staff are prepared to do anything to make your stay good.We have met the same people several times there so others must also be pleased will the service.
