I travel a lot, and bought this deal for 2 nights via KGB deals. I had to leave and check into another hotel after the first night. We had been advised to get there by six thirty, and maybe I misunderstood, but we arrived at 6:20 pm, to be told we were late for our 6:15 pm meal! Dinner was ok, but the "tea" served in the lounge was not! The heating was on full blast what seemed like day and night, and we had to share a dinner table with two more couples, and we were all strangers, none of whom expected to share a table. I was very tired so went to bed quite early, and was soon awoken by everyone going past my door noisily, and the floor boards creaked on my floor and the one above, so that was difficult. then in the early hours of the of the morning there was a constant loud banging noise for over ten mins and we think it was the dreaded heating system starting. Breakfast for all six of us on the table was awful, cold "toast" inedible sausages, and boiled eggs obviously prepared hours previously. After going out in lovely Eastbourne in the morning, I went back to the hotel to try and get some sleep, to no avail again. I could hear every word the staff said in the corridors, due to lack of soundproofing. I tried to check out, but the general manager told me that no one else had complained, and I would have to call central reservations on Monday ! I explained I was I'll and did not want to leave, but did not feel I should pay the hotel £50 profit for my suffering. In the end I knew I would get no where, so my partner stayed and I left, a decision my partner sorely regretted. Due to another night of noisy disrupted sleep!
The location of the hotel is fantastic, and the service is rather good, and the rooms are clean, but the beds are very uncomfortable.
I went back for dinner the second night, as it w included in the KGB deal and I did not want to spend more than I had on the second hotel room, having checked into the cavendish hotel. which was nice. One couple had decided not to eat there the second night, and the four of us regretted eating the, and none of us finished our meals! I do not know who is writing the other reviews, but have they really stayed at the imperial hotel I wonder?
