“Brilliant hotel!!”

Kinmel Hotel

28 May 2008

We stayed for what was our 10th visit in 4 years. We just can't visit the Kinmel enough! Sara and Neville are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble whether this is your 1st or 10th visit . The Hotel is spotless and as well as the usual extras of high quality tea/coffee/biscuits, toiletries etc you also get bottles of water and sweets in your room. There's fantastic views of the the bay and the hotel is centrally located for everything. The breakfast is delicious and I can't wait to go back for our 11th visit!

When I visited this hotel last week it was very cosy, friendly people and welcoming. Sara and Neville made me feel very at home by there constant friendliness and kindness, they practically bent over backwards to make my stay was enjoyable and it was an excellent holiday.
The rooms were very spacious and were provided with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer and even biscuits and a kettle! It was also great to have fresh bottled water in the room. Breakfast were also lovely with a great selection of fruit, cereal and traditional cooked breakfast. Overall thumbs up =]

We stayed here for a night in a superior room. On arrival we were shown to our room, which was lovely, sea view with bay windows to get the most out of it, really large room with a large bed that was really comfy. Bottled water and a variety of tea and coffee and biscuits. I slept soundly which is unusual for me in a hotel. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, gave us few tips on places to go, one of them 'the albert' a pub/resturaunt which was closeby, lovely food, not cheap but worth it and very friendly staff. In the morning we went for breakfast, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, breakfast was lovely. The reception was manned 24hours which i liked. We were probably the youngest people staying there, others seemed to be middle aged but a lovely hotel for a break and the best room to relax in, almost felt like we were sleeping on the beach. We were so happy we tried to book another night to saty but it was fully booked to our dissapointment and we knew that we wouldn't get another room to match this one.

Just returned from a one night stay at the Kinmel, what a relief to get home. We booked a night at the Kinmel as a special night for my partners fathers 80th birthday after reading some good reviews on the trip advisor website. After speaking to the staff a couple of times on the phone all seemed well, we even booked our evening meal after finding out we could get a vegi meal and there would be a good choose of meat options.
On arrival all seemed well, good location and pleasant staff, even the rooms were ok although we had 4 flights of stairs to contend with and no sign of any help or a lift. We soon found out that 1 of our rooms had a faulty lock, the kettle had to be placed on the floor in both rooms because of lack of sockets and the showers in both rooms was no more than a cold trickle but in fairness the lock was sorted a few hours later. We were also told upon arrival that our evening meal would be at 5.30, we were hoping for a bit of choice of lets say between 5.30 and 8. We were eventualy told that it would be no problem to eat at 6.30 but this would be the very latest possible time.
Our spirits were still quite high going down for our evening meal until we entered a dark empty drafty basement and told to sit up the corner. The starter was fine but it's impossible to get melon wrong. When the main courses arrived the table went a bit silent. Three of our party had the lamb which had obviously been cooked over an hour ealier and warmed up, it also seemed to be more fat than meat, I had a vegi bake which seemed to be made up of raw mash and a tiny bit of carrot. Next came the veg which was piles and piles of boiled patatoe and coliflower which had been boiled within an inch of it's life and seemed to be a nice shade of brown, also there was what looked liked fried onion but we later found out was cabbage.
After complaining about our food to the manager he turned very agressive and suggested we found another hotel which in hind sight we wish we had done. Eventualy we agreed on a 25% reduction of the meal bill but we still all felt a bit robbed considering none of us had eaten our meal.
Breakfast seemed all together different, loads of people, good looking food and a pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast in fairness was good but we seemed the only table without any toast so when we asked for some i overheard one of the waitresses saying she had given us some and called us liars.
It was time to go but noticed a car blocking us in, i get the feeling it might of been the managers car making sure we didn't leave without payment but this issue never came up as i spent 20 mins gettin my car out before we checked out. Our bill had drinks on it whick should not of been there and it took some time before our 25% was knocked off our food bill.
Was a big relief to leave the Kinmel Hotel and would never ever go back.
Hope the owners of the Kinmel read this review as they were away for the weekend and introduce some of their members off staff to the words CUSTOMER SERVICE

“Great holiday, definitely recommend this one, from Stoke-on-Trent!”

We stayed at the Kimnel for 3 nights, you could tell that the bedrooms had recently been decorated, very clean & spacious. Each day there was bottled water, biscuits, tea, coffee & hot chocolate provided which was a nice touch. We stayed for bed, breakfast & evening meal, lovely home cooked food & plenty of it, served nice & hot. Hotel staff & manager very polite & obliging. Only fault we could find was that there was no lift ,as we were with elderly parents, we found out that they are planning to install one next year, along with the new bar area. Another added bonus was that there was a good sized car park to the rear of the hotel, as parking in Llandudno can be a pain. We had a great holiday, would definitely recommend this one!!!! We will be back again next year.
