“Great Place to Stay”

I would recommend a stay here. Spent a long weekend there. Room was kept very clean and tidy and there was a great sea view with the Great Orme on one side and the Little Orme on the other. The bed was very comfortable and enabled a good night's sleep. Breakfast was great. The staff had gone to the trouble to supply me with a vegetarian breakfast. All staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay a very pleasant one.

Would recommend.

I spent 3 nights at Swn-Y-Mor while visiting the UK on holiday from the USA. What a wonderful place to stay! I absolutley recommend Swn-Y-Mor without the slightest hesitation! The innkeepers, Ron and Jean, are so very warm & welcoming, and very helpful about how to make your stay in the north of Wales a memorable one. The location of Swn-Y-Mor is directly on the seafront, on the Promenade, and just minutes from the shops, pubs, and restaurants of the town center. It is beautiful 24 hours a day! Our room was terrific. We had a magnificent view of the sea! And the room was spotless, very comfortable, very well provided and cheerful. The ensuite bath was lovely too, and not at all cramped like you find in some places. The breakfast room overlooked the sea as well, and was bright and cheerful. We had the Full English Breakfast each morning, which was absolutely delicious and so substantial that we made do with just a light snack in the early evening, or just an afternoon tea. It was a wonderful way to economize and save up for shopping! We drove the Great Orme, which is a must see for anyone staying in the area. We also visited Conwy, Caernarfon and Betys-y-Coed. The drive through Snowdonia will take your breath away! Each evening we were warmly welcomed back by an always smiling Ron & Jean. I had absolutely no disappointments with Swn-Y-Mor, and found Wales a breathtakingly beautiful country, and the Welsh warm and friendly and always ready to be helpful. It was hard to pack up and depart! Thank you Ron and Jean for a magnificent stay in your beautiful country!

Being innkeepers ourselves we appreciate the value of inn-goers' reviews; we selected Swn-y-mor Hotel because of their excellent tripadvisor.com rating. We absolutely loved everything about this wonderful small hotel. The innkeepers were exceptional in every way - helpful, kind, accommodating and delightful to talk with. The hotel is perfectly clean, delightfully decorated and comfortable in every way. The breakfasts were delicious - the perfect "British" breakfast. Then to top it all off, the location... on the promenade overlooking the Irish Sea and the Great Orme and comfortable walking distance from the town center, shopping and restaurants. Our stay was absolutely perfect in every way. We hope to go back soon and spend a week with Jean and Ron at the Swn-y-mor in Llandudno - we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

“That beautiful sea view”

My partner and I stayed at the Swn-y-Mor from 29 August to 2 September this year, we chose it entirely because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor and we were very pleased. We are 60ish non-smokers from St Albans and we wanted some serious non- stressful relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the London area, so we could just unwind for a few days. We got a beautiful large room with an amazing sea view which took in the whole bay from the Great Orme to the Little Orme - if you've not been to Llandudno, the Ormes are a pair of picturesque rocky promontories - and it was so soothing just watching the tide coming in and going out. I really miss that sea view since we came back home. The owners, Jean & Ron, made us feel completely at home - they don't intrude at all but are always ready to help if you ask. They allow smoking in the basement of the building, where they have a sort of cafe-bar, but it doesn't affect the hotel proper, which is entirely non-smoking. The cooked breakfasts are very good - they also do evening meals by arrangement but we didn't try one so can't comment on those. You can park round the back of the building. The location is excellent for Mostyn Street (the main shopping area) and a pleasant walk from the Great Orme tramway station. I know the town well because I have family there and have stayed at other places before this, but next time we shall definitely go back to the Swn-y-Mor.

    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — Get in the shower before 7.15am or else take a bath. Be aware that there's no lift.

We are two couples in our 60s and 70s and have just returned from an excellent weekend at this hotel. It would be very difficult to find a fault here. We stayed on a B and B basis but evening meals are available if required. I should add that after breakfast you will not need much lunch. The location is on the promenade and whilst central is away from the noise and crowds of the pier area. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. We have stayed in more expensive hotels and had nothing like the care and attention we have had here. To sum up the hotel is family run and Jean, Ron, Bobbie and Sallie cannot do enough to make your stay an enjoyable one. Will we return?. You bet we will. Will you enjoy it ?. Unless you are a professional moaner you will.
