Stayed here for 8 nights whilst in Ipswich in business.

Room was comfortable and clean. Reception area has a couple of vending machines for midnight snacks.

Breakfast is self serve continental. The dining area is a bit small and got crowded a few mornings.

Best thing about the hotel is the Beagle pub next door. I ate there 6 nights out of the 8, and didn't have one bad meal. The only problem was finding something different to choose. One comment would be that it wasn't that warm once you move away from the fire.

Note - don't confuse this with the Holiday Inn nearby - this is an Express, and doesn't have a pool or gym.

Just had an excellent three nights stay at this hotel. We took up the special offer of £39.00 a night and have paid much more for a hotel not up to these standards. Spotlessly clean, great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. The 'Beagle' next door added even more to this weekend with a varied menu serving excellent food. Thanks to all!!

This is a cracking little hotel, lovely and clean with good size rooms in a convenient location. All decorations were smart and bright. Lovely pub adjoining. Staff were really nice, very chatty, and extremely helpful. The internet connection was easy to use and reliable, if a little slow. But this is so much more than you get in other hotels for the same money, so its hard to complain.
The only downside is the breakfast - the seating area is woefully inadequate for a hotel of the size so you have to be friendly and share a table. Also the choice of food was more limited than I'm used to. Basically just cereal, toast or a pastry IF you get there before they are all gone (I didn't !). Had it not been for this the hotel is a undoubtedly a 5/5. Next time in the area I will DEFINITELY stay in the hotel but I think I will go to Tescos (5 mins max in the car away) for my breakfast !!!

Clean, friendly, good value for money. Breakfast has less choice than other chains but is included in the price, still good. Showers not baths in rooms we used.

The staff were amazed when I told them that one report here said they had fitness suite and pool - they have neither in spite of the fact that the internation directory shows a barbell indicating fitnes suite.
