My wife and I stayed here in late November, as an overnight getaway. The plan was to escape for the evening and not have far to walk after dinner.
We checked in and we were shown to our room by the manager. The room was small, cramped with outdated furniture, and cold. It was, however, clean. We commented on the temperature and we were treated to a lecture, by the owner, on why they didn't leave any sort of heating on in the room. This was something about not wanting people to open the windows. Considering it was -5 outside, opening a window wasn't on our to-do list.
We ordered wine with dinner and it was spoiled. When we pointed this out to the manager, he refuted it and stood at the table arguing with us. We were patronised with comments about us not being used to drinking aged wine, about how we only knew supermarket wines etc, etc. Considering we drink more quality red wine than is good for us, we know a thing or two about it! We eventually got the wine changed, after much discussion.
Dinner was bland. Whilst the restaurant atmosphere was pleasant, the food was dull. My wife and I had different dishes and yet they looked identical on the plate, and tasted the same.
Overall, not a good experience. Think twice about this one.
