i"ll start by mentioning that i"m not a regular hotel user. Avoid them at all costs to be honest, but had no choice this time. I was pleasantly suprised. Check in was brief and easy. 10 minutes tops. Pleasant staff. The room was spacious for a single traveller-and spotlessly clean. Plenty of clean towels.
Armchair type chairs were very comfortable,and so was the bed.I was a bit suprised at this having seen a few comments before..but speak as you find etc.Having sky sports1,2 and 3 at no extra cost was a bonus for me on a personal level-as i was shattered after a long train journey(and a walk up that hill!),so unfortunately didnt really feel like using the bar.
The one gripe i would have is the cost of the food-too expensive from my point of view.Though it was very nice to be fair.

overall a very pleasant stay.Would certainly use the hotel again

The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. All staff very friendly and the food out of this world, would go just for the food.
Can't wait for the new leisure & swimming pool to open.

Having just spent three weeks at the Carlton Park Hotel, whilst on business in the area, i cannot recommend this hotel too highly.
The staff i found to be extremely helpful and went out their way to ensure that all my needs were catered for and that i was treated 'special'.
Majority of nights i eat in the restaurant or had room service which was also to a good standard and of good value.
Will hopefully be returning later in the year on business and will most certainly be staying at the Carlton Park Hotel.

My partner and i stayed at the carlton park for 2 nights recently and whilst we found the hotel reasonably comfortable , the rudeness and the poor service combined with a poor welcome made our stay unenjoyable...is it too much to ask nowadays for good service !!
