My partner and I Went to spend a weekend in the South Yorkshire area and attend an army veterens reunion. This was one of 3 hotels recommended by my vets association.
The Hotel rooms are very nice, there is an annexe which is a fairly recent addition , nice and clean and a bit on motel style. my partner and I were glad of this because on 2 of the 3 nights that we stayed there were wedding parties on both days.
On our last night (Sunday) we decided we would eat in the hotel restaurant. (BIG MISTAKE) We were stuck in a small dining room with no atmosphere, we were treated like 2nd class citizens and the meal, Traditional English Roast Beef Dinner was terrible.Sorry we have run out of potatoes but you can have chips !!! When we complained to the reception the next morning we were spoken to very nicely but told that due to the hotel being very busy with a wedding party things were a "little difficult". Our complaint would be passed on to the Operations Manager, who to date, has not seen fit to make contact with us.
IF YOU CONSIDER STAYING AT THIS HOTEL CHECK FIRST TO SEE IF THEY HAVE WEDDING OR OTHER PARTIES BOOKED IN
BECAUSE IF THEY HAVE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE ATTENTION YOU ARE ENTITLED TO.
In fairness I must say the breakfasts were very good and the morning dining room staff were very good and friendly
