managed to get this inn on a groupon deal for £59 for two nights bed and breakfast, i dont think i would have paid £80 a night though. Came with family to celebrate my 40th. The inn itself is lovely and has lots of history both local and royal. Very clean rooms, ducal pine furniture, flat screen tv, full tea/coffee facilities including hot chocolate which my sons loved, also supplied biscuits. Very well decorated throughout. Breakfast absolutely lovely and set us all up for the day.Staff very efficient, friendly etc. Came in quite late one evening and asked where the nearest shop was as my two young sons wanted juice for the room, owner said shops were closed and she gave me a large carton of apple juice, no charge. Great location for both Whitby and Scarborough, also great for walkers. The only downside is noise from both the bar underneath and traffic. Great big articulated lorries thundering past only 5ft from the inn makes it very noisy. I dont think it would put me off coming back again though.
