“what a fantastic family hotel”

Rockside Hotel

6 May 2008

We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Rockside. we is my self and my partner plus 7month old ellie violet. The hotel was great the room was big and clean with plenty of room for our travel cot and all ellies endless bags of things. The owners Darrel and sarah were fantastic and couldnt do enough to help us and baby ellie. The hotel room we had was on the top floor which was a hike but well worth it as the views over the bay were fantastic. Breakfast was fab to served between 8.30 and 9am they were always making sure we had enough to set our selfs up for the day. The only issue with the hotel and it would go for all the hotels in that area is parking but there is nothing anyone can do about that you just need to be patient and a space will come but you dont neeed to pay for parking as you do get a permit of the hotel. The main front and scarborough town is only a 15minute walk away so dont be put of that its on the north bay plus its nicer on the north bay more relaxed and inviting. Yes this isnt a luxury hotel but is it clean and well located the owners are fantastic and the breakfast top class we will hopefully be going again later in the year and without a doubt for years to come.

We have just had a lovely weekend break at Rockside. The Hotel had just opened up for the Spring and the whole place looked spotless and had a lovely clean smell. The owners were helpful and gave us great suggestions for eating out.
The full english breakfast was excellent - a great start to our day. The Hotel is in a perfect location right overlooking the sea and a short walk to the town centre and seafront. The sea view from our room was a real bonus. Compared to other places we have stayed at in Scarborough and other places, Rockside was by far the nicest place and represented excellent value for money. We have booked again for the end of May!

My Fiance and I have stayed in Scarborough on two previous occassions (at The Roy*l Hotel and The Gr*nd, both were awful!)and swore that we would never stop there again! However, after stopping at The Rockside, we're glad we changed our minds. The place was great, the staff were great and so was the food!!!! Now we'd have no problem returning to Scarborough, provided it's back to The Rockside!!!!
Thank you Trip Advisor!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rockside.
The views of the coastline were stunning, and the hotel is situated
in the perfect location (short walks to all amenities)
We are a family with 2 small children who were made to feel really welcome.
The room was clean and tidy and the ensuite facilities was a bonus for us.
All the staff were extremely pleasent, helpful and couldn't do enough for us.
We were really happy and we definately will return to the Rockside hotel.

We are a family with two children(10 and 8 yrs old) and usually stay in caravans or tents in holiday resorts. This year I felt I would like a rest from the cooking and cleaning up after the family, so thought we would try a hotel. Well it was wonderful, not only clean but the owners are very friendly and helpful, and lovely to our children. We stayed in a family suite with sea views, which had a double bed and bunk beds, which had plenty of room for us. Had a hearty breakfast in the morning which sets you up for the day(well, if you have two hungry kids like mine!) It was our first trip to scarborough and we will go again. There was plenty to do and see, but to breathe in the sea air every morning did it for me.
