Stayed a night for a business trip. The hotel is said to be 4 star, but it's really down-market if it is. Most of the decoration is tired and it just doesn't have a stylish feel. We were unable to book dinner until 9:15 pm and so had to eat elsewhere. That said, the staff were pleasant and efficient and it was pretty cheap. It's an unexceptional place for reasonable money.

I stayed at the Cedar Court after reading the other review posted for this hotel thinking that if the Night staff can be praised then the rest of the hotel must be superb.

After arriving at the hotel I too was greeted by the Night management, although the "Malcolm" mentioned is not with the hotel any longer I found Mark (the new night manager i think - or at least he should be) terific I was welcomed from the moment i walked in to the moment i departed 3 days later.

All i can say is that if you are in Huddersfield youre in for a treat if you stay at this hotel.

Well after a terrible flight to Manchester Airport, hours getting out of the damn place and a horrible taxi ride to the hotel. WOW is all i can say. It was well past midnight and as you know everything in England seems to close at 11pm. But as i pulled up to hotel i was impressed by the overall decor and lighting. Coming to reception i was greeted by a giant of a night manager with a wonderful smile. He was very cheery and helpfull. Daring to ask for food and drink i was informed of the room service menu in my room. I was taken to my room which was very comfatable and roomy. After a few minutes the phone rang-it was the night manager asking what i would like to eat and drink(now thats what i call service). I ordered and was told it could take 30 minutes. After 20 minutes my food and drink arrived-it was excellent. I stayed in the hotel for 6 nights and was very impressed with everything. The staff are so friendly but very proffesional with it. They say first impressions count well they certainly did in this case the night manager deserves a special mention ( his name was malcolm). FANTASTIC
