Weekend surprise for husband paid for by his two daughters.
They had booked a double deluxe ensuite and a twin room for themselves. They had arrived early and placed champagne and balloons in our room but when we arrived they were gone as the cleaner had thought they were done with and put them in a utility cupboard downstairs. The standard of cleanliness has dropped since the 18 years we were last there. Dirt behind taps,thick dust round the edge of the skirting boards. Do not book room 411 if you dont like squeaky floors! Another night and we would have been out of our minds- it drove us mad. The balcony was nice as the weather was great. The service in the dining room was quick but the food was not great-and does not warrant the charges asked. The staff were friendly enough but on check in we did not get offered the complimentary drinks and noticed others with theirs. This might have something to do with the Jaguar, Merc or 4 wheel drive they arrived in. Was not happy about the upity staff at reception- surly and unsmiling. The highlight of the weekend was the Quad biking arranged for us- we had an expert female biker and she was great and reassuring. A credit to Dunkeld. We have travelled and holidayed in some of the best and I have never written a report before but I wouldnt recommend this hotel to stay in if it wasnt for the beautiful surroundings- which is what you are paying for!

Lovely Hotel is a nice setting and great for romantic night away. Rooms overall are fine, a little old fashioned but i guess thats the theme of the hotel. One thing I would point out is hotel staff are very up themselves and seem to sook up guests with flashy cars and suits. If you are a normal perosn like myself the service falls down drastically (this seems to be the case with some hilton hotels in general that Ive stayed in - see my other reviews). Witnessed cleaning staff pick up a dirty towel off the floor and washing the cups in the room with it and in full view of me as the room door was open, Since witnessing that I have never drank form hotel cups ever! Restaraunt is very expensive and so is the drinks. The location does make up for it as its beautiful and you feel a million miles from anywhere.

Just back from 4 sunny days in Dunkeld. Was slightly nervous before going after reading various reviews on this site. The reality is that the hotel is great value for money in a stunning location. Our room was modern and spacious with complimentary wine and chocolate on our arrival. The leisure facilities are outstanding. All the staff were polite and friendly irrespective of their nationality. The food was excellent and certainly plentiful. Booked again for a long weekend in July.

This is an absolutely beautiful location, especially if you like scenic walks. The Hilton Grand Vacation Lodges are amazing. The pool and exercise rooms and staff are great.
