It was a while since I'd last eaten here well and happily on a number of occasions, but something is now rotten in the state of Oscars. The first inkling was being overcharged £3 for two basic meals, hardly a mathematical challenge for the till user. We were given a lame excuse, no apology and our £3 back. We then heard another table complaining that they too had been overcharged, this time by £2.10. When my wife's meal arrived we almost needed a magnifying glass to locate the humous amongst the unexciting salad, so small was the portion and so large was the toast intended for speading it on. My lasagne was acceptable, but could have done with longer in the oven. Regret at our choice of eatery was alarmingly heightened when the table behind us found something very unsouplike in their soup. The management's response was inadequate and defensive, but at this point it was the fourth complaint within 15 minutes, so they probably felt like walking out too, as I'm afraid we did with on intention of returning.
