I have just returned from Hay and was lucky enough to be able to stay for two nights at Seven Stars. Despite it being the busiest time of year in Hay, we had a warm and generous welcome: we were able to check in early and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, smart and fresh with fluffy white towels and an excellent shower. The beds were very comfortable - there were plenty of pillows and the bedding was crisp, immaculate and comfortable. There was ample parking, we could come and go as we pleased and the location could not be better as it is right in the centre of Hay. The windows are double glazed so there is no problem with noise despite being so central. The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked by a local farmer's daughter using locally produced food. I don't usually have cooked breakfast but could not resist local bacon, tomatoes and mushroom - piping hot and very tasty The coffee was hot, fresh brewed and was refilled as often as requested! The landlady also makes a special fruit compote in home made syrup - and there was a queue of guests asking for the recipe! This B&B combines modern convenience with the quaint charm of a coaching inn. The warmth of welcome was equally charming - friendly and with just the right amount of information and chat! I cannot recommend the Seven Stars highly enough - go there and see for yourself!
